She listens, she gets it and she pulls things together remarkably, so that everything works together even better than you hoped for, all with a unique sensitivity to cost, benefit and functionality. She is experienced enough to know where a trail leads, so you don't go down any blind alleys. She knows when money is well spent and when it isn't.

Janice did a great job. She changed our walls to a bright white and artistically arranged the furniture. It was transformed from a tired quaint looking apartment to a trendy vintage style apartment. We wanted to get the most rent possible for it and we got it as well it rented in 3 hours of posting the photos.

I hired the services of Janice McCarty Design to help sell a condo in the Marina Peninsula. It was just not selling in a good market. The clients had moved back to the Mid West but had left their living and dining room furniture behind. The condo felt a bit dark and the furniture was heavy in style and placement. I took it all out and Janice added her casual beach touch and turned the place into an inviting now uplifting vibe. It was amazing how it had been transformed. Janice helped us stage a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom home in Venice and she did a phenomenal job! The color pattern of various furniture that she chose suited the style of the remodeling and the creative flourishes of inventive wall fixtures and flower/plant displays really enhanced the beauty of the overall display. She even helped us design and carry out two darling custom made planters for outside windows. She made sure our open houses always looked their best and she was always available to see to every detail or concern of ours.

She also managed all the work since I lived across country when the project was underway. She has a team of folks she uses for most of the work, and they are not only great at what they do, but have really reasonable rates, which all got passed on to me. Throughout the process, Janice was gracious and easy to work with. She promptly returned emails, and I received a weekly accounting of monies spent. Because of the amazing work Janice did, coupled with the savvy sales skill of my realtor, I was able to get $100k+ over asking price for my house!! After I listed a home that was staged by Janice McCarty, from day one, the phone was ringing off the hook. By the end of the week we already had more than four offers and all this happening in a very depressed market. Potential buyers kept commenting on how the pictures attracted their attention and once they came to the property they would ask about whether the furniture was included. Janice is very good at matching the neighborhood’s feel, in addition to being an artist, because of her experience staging places for rental properties, she is very well acquainted with what people like.

Janice has been my designer for a few years now. Recently she just redesigned a kitchen for me. Wow, what a transformation. She took a semi-functional space and made it into a joy-filled gathering/cooking space. I couldn't wait to get inside and start feeding the kids. it's simply beautiful. What's more is that I had a budget; and not a big one at that. She worked tirelessly to get the design right, the budget in order and the contractor in line. I'd work with her again in a heart beat!

I hired Janice McCarty to take my ordinary looking condo turned it into "cool, calm and hip". And she did just that! She didn't have me spend a lot of money or do extravagant things. The pieces she got for me were things I may never have even done myself. They look so amazing! It is SO much more than it was before. From having the right pillows made, to throws that pull things together to little jars and vases to the spectacular light fixture that is the focus on my dinning and main room are all just perfect to create the desired "wow" results. She found an amazing mirror on super discount and got just the right curtains that add a nice feel of richness. I had loved my prior ones but she insisted...and she was right. It elevated the design of the whole space. Janice didn't just buy things. She and her handyman had my light fixture re-worked on the hanging bar, added to it a few things and put new bulbs and "played with" to make it so much more than it started out to be. She also had curtains made for a chef's table, to hide my appliances that made it look so much "richer" and finished. Janice's services are very well worth it! She worked every hour she billed and was efficient with her time and she even sought out the best deals for what I paid in materials cost. I am very pleased and will hire her for more work.

I have known Janice for 30 years, We met when I started buying her fabulous clothes. Then I bought a chair she designed! Now, all these years later, Janice is consulting on an interior design job on our townhouse for my husband and myself. She is fabulous. She came up with creative, cost-effective solutions and that my husband and I both liked. We are continuing to work with Janice, happy we have someone we can trust our home to with her beautiful aesthetic sense.

We could not have redone our kitchen without Janice. Quite honestly, with our budget, we didn't realize that we could do as much as we did, until Janice sat down and listened to our ideas and hopes of what it could be. She immediately understood what we were trying to do, and made suggestions that we didn't even think were possible. She advised on flooring, and where to get it, disagreed with me on the countertops (and ended up being right), suggested kitchen tile and was able to find beautiful tiling that was very affordable, shopped with us to find light fixtures, paint and hardware. Initially, it was her vision to redo the structure of the counters and wrap them around the kitchen...that started it all. Janice envisioned what the kitchen could be, and how to get there, and explained it to us before a penny was spent. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her and without question she helped us create our dream kitchen within our price range...and was a pleasure to work with!

At first I was concerned when my wife hired Janice McCarty to help us update our home. Since my priorities are for comfort and economy I didn't realize that a decorator could provide for those needs as well as develop the space into a beautiful haven. We are very comfortable on a daily basis with our new home and enjoy accolades from our guests. Since our first experience with Janice McCarty was so positive we have hired her to update our beach house which we rent out from time to time and has attracted international guests. And recently we fixed up our new second home in Palm Springs where appreciate the guidance we received from Janice that has made that home beautiful and comfortable at a cost that is less than we could have rendered on our own.
