About Us

Greenfield Design is a residential design firm focusing on historically inspired homes. By drawing on design ideals of the past, homes built today blend into the context of existing neighborhoods and remain timeless. Jon Greenfield received his architectural degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans. In 1993, Greenfield started his career in Atlanta in the office of one of the country's most prominent residential design firms - Stephen Fuller Designs. He relocated to Chattanooga to join the office of Southern Land Company, one of the South's leading mixed-use developers. In 1999, he founded Greenfield Design. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art.

It was an overall great pleasure to work with Greenfield Design. The principal architect listened to the clients' vision and brought it forth in a beautiful plan. The completed structure is a sight to see both inside and out.

My name is Rick Harris Owner/Builder/Developer and my firm Big Whiskey Land & Cattle, has worked with Jon on several projects, Windward Pointe (custom home), Lookout Mountain (major residential rehab), Young Ave (custom home), Dartmouth Park (four new homes and subdivision development), Hampton on the Lake (custom home) and most recently Skyall a new pocket neighborhood that will feature several of Jon's home designs. I have always found Jon to be a welcome and contributing voice to the design process and value his insights which have saved me many times. Jon was professional and knowledgeable during the entire experience we worked with him. He listened to our ideas and concerns and incorporated our feedback into the house design. We wanted a custom home and by explaining to him our dreams, he was able to bring our dream home into fruition.

John drew up our house plans from scratch. We described what we wanted, and he made it happen. He did a fantastic job. The house turned out great. Moreover, John was reasonably priced and a pleasure to work with.

Working with Greenfield Design was the highlight of our building process. Jon was able to take our paper napkin floor plan and create a space that was perfect for our family. I respect his opinion as an architect and was thrilled with the overall design and details he provided. We will definitely use Greenfield Design with any future projects!
