We purchased a home in dire need of renovation, yet we had never been through the process before. Joel listened to our broad ideas for the house and brought them into the drawings, while also adding several wonderful touches that we had not even thought about. Joel was also extremely helpful in working through the permit acquisition process. During construction, Joel worked well with our contractor to rectify a few issues that arose (the renovation was on a very old home), providing clear explanation of the problems and solutions that were most economical. We were very pleased with the work from JH Design and have used them subsequently to help design a new garage.

I hired Joel to renovate my kitchen and family room. I was very pleased with his timeliness, attention to detail, and responsiveness throughput the project. In addition to the design plAn, he coordinated well with the GC and he helped me with the selection of materials and colors that worked really well. Joel took the time to get to know exactly what we wanted for our home remodeling project. He was very open to our ideas. He really made us feel that his main objective was to make sure we were always comfortable, informed and ultimately very satisfied with the end result. We worked with JH Design and Joel Heiniger to design architectural plans for a property we purchased in the Chicagoland area. The project was a major rehab and major addition to a 1920's house.
