We have used Jonathan's architectural services for several of our projects in our home, with the most recent being a large 1st floor update of our kitchen, family room, and dining room. We were so impressed with his vision for our space! We had a basic thought of what we wanted, but it wasn't until working with Jon that our vision of the "perfect farmhouse family space"came to fruition! We needed someone with creativity and professional structural knowledge to help us get around a few "sticky spots" in the design-and Jon was our man! He was so quick to drive over-at the drop of a hat-to answer any questions while contractors were here. He was here to check on the project as it progressed, and to make sure that everything met his extremely high level of expectations. We couldn't be happier with our new space! Jon's professionalism, attention to every detail, creativity, friendly manner, and ability to "think outside the box" are all what make him the #1 architect in our area! We'd highly recommend him to anyone, hands-down!

My wife and I can't speak highly enough about Jonathan and his architectural work. We hired him to design our custom waterfront home from the ground up. He came highly recommended from a couple other homeowners who used him for their designs. From the beginning he was very attentive of what we were looking for, and designed a couple of different renditions from scratch, and then had several follow up meetings (and a million more calls and emails from me!) to dial in the design. We were thoroughly impressed with his ability to bring our vision to life, and to create a unique house with stylish features. I personally was very pleased with his willingness to answer and return calls and emails in a timely manner. Besides his great design, he was helpful in helping us select the Structural Engineer and Home Builder. It's been about a year since he "completed" his services to us, but that hasn't stopped him from stopping by and seeing our house being built several times, and reaching out to us to make sure we're happy with the results. This just tells me that he is truly passionate about what he creates, and takes the satisfaction of his clients to heart. Jonathan Rivera’s architectural vision is like none other. This was our 3rd time working with Jonathan. We went to him not knowing how we wanted to reconstruct our outdoor living space to make it more functional. He immediately looked at our space and existing structure and knew how best to construct an addition of a screened in porch to allow for 4 season use of our existing deck. His rendering of our porch was beautiful and the real life outcome is even more stunning. His communication, professionalism, and artistic ability is exceptional. You can’t go wrong with Jonathan!

I could not speak more highly of Johathan's as an architect. We engaged him to build our dream house from scratch. He turned a very overwhelming/complex process into a fun and exciting experience. We started off dreaming big with him by providing inspiration photos and direction and he came back to us very quickly with a close to perfect first draft (which was shocking)! We have admired Jonathan Rivera’s work for years. We had only him in mind to design the outdoor living and garage addition we wanted for our newly constructed home. After carefully listening to what we wanted, he designed the amazing space we needed! Jonathan captured our personal style perfectly. He was active in the construction process by having excellent communication with the builder and making site visits. They collaborated to deliver us a garage, covered porch and deck that is beyond our beauty and quality expectations. Not once did we question Jonathan’s choices and suggestions. My husband and I are celebrating 1 year in our home designed by and with Jonathan Rivera. There has not been a day that we've lived here that we aren't grateful for Jonathan's magnificent work, especially during this time of "sheltering in place". Among the most wonderful aspects of working with Jonathan is his ability to hear you. He takes words to vision, and vision to design. He pays attention to how it is you plan to live in the space, and brings a wealth of experience and creativity to help visualize and incorporate things that you can't quite put into words. The process of building a home can be overwhelming. Working with Jonathan made it much easier. We engaged Jonathan Rivera to plan, design and oversee the construction of our custom home on the Severn River in Crownsville. He and his firm had been recommended and referred to us independently by friends and other contacts. Ultimately, one of the best choices we could have made for our project. He is particularly skilled at listening to his clients (and prospective clients) early to understand critical preferences, priorities and concerns. As a result, his initial design hit the mark and we built the house substantially as proposed in Jonathan's first renderings. The home Jonathan designed for us was exactly what we wanted to build. What we hadn't appreciated initially was the value and expertise he provided our family while selecting a builder, working through the permit process (which is critical for waterfront projects) and working with our builder through the construction phase to make sure that all of the details are implemented as designed. We greatly appreciated the way in which he worked with the builder and continued to look after the project through the day our family moved in. He also refers the right people for other aspects of the job - e.g., structural engineers, soil experts, etc. Could not be more pleased with Jonathan Rivera Architecture and all of the members of Jonathan's team with whom we worked during the process. McWhorter Construction has had the benefit of working with Jonathan Rivera on several projects. Jonathan's creativity, drawings and designs are top-notch. We worked with Jonathan to bring our remodel dreams to life. This was our first experience with an Architect, and we are so happy with the results. Jonathan did a great job of both listening to our ideas and bringing his eye for design to the table. The "little details" are really what makes the difference. From the extra details in the dormers to the brick arches under the porch, you can really see what separates Jonathan's projects from the rest. We were able to successfully transform a boring 1970's Split Foyer into a Low Country style house that much better fits our family needs and better fits our property. I would highly recommend Jonathan, and often do. We are looking forward to working with him on Phase 2 of the project!

Jonathan helped us with an extensive remodel of our master bathroom. It was our first experience working with an architect and I couldn’t be happier with the process and the end result. Jonathan met with us to talk about what we were looking to do. He asked us great questions about not only what we wanted the end result to look like but also lots of functional questions about how we would use the space. The design he created blew our mind!. It was so far beyond anything I could have come up with on my own. He recommended contractors based on our target budget and worked with us and the contractor through the entire process. I have heard so many horror stories about home renovations and I am happy to report that with Jonathan on our side the entire process ran smoothly and on time. He was available for questions and design tweaks throughout the entire project. I am so pleased with our bathroom and with the quality of the service that Jonathan provided. I can’t wait until our next project so we can work with him again!

Our experience working with Jonathan was wonderful! We worked with Jonathan over the course of a 3 year period (March 2013 - Oct 2015). Our home was a complete custom build from the ground up. We were looking to build a French Country / European style home. We had collected a few inspiration pictures which we showed to Jonathan, each capturing a different detail we wanted incorporated from exterior trim detail, to large arched windows to hipped roofs, etc. Johnathan was able to morph our inspiration pictures into one design. Jonathan's drawings were extremely detailed down to the exact type of exterior molding and style numbers. Jonathan's 3D software also allowed us to virtually tour the home to know if we liked the layout prior to build. In addition, this 3D layout allowed us to catch things like clipped ceilings due to staircase placement, etc. that we were able to address prior build out The interior design of our home is just as exquisite as the exterior. We provided Jonathan very specific requirements for the interior design and he did not disappoint. Every element we had requested was laid out perfectly. During the build process Jonathan was always available. He was there to bounce ideas off and get recommendations He visited the site several times during construction to make sure things were shaping up as expected. Jonathan really understood our vision and stayed true to the vision with every aspect of our home! Thanks Jonathan!

Jonathan worked with us on a complete redesign of our home's original addition that included a major change to the layout of the existing first floor as well as adding a second floor above the addition. He understood what we were looking for and provided excellent options. He was very open regarding the cost involved and worked well to accommodate both our wishes and our budget. His final drawings were perfect. We had no issues getting clearance from the County and our builder was able to easily work from the plans to create the addition of our dreams. Our builder was impressed with the quality and stated that the level of detail included made his job much easier.

As an architect, he is professional in every respect and his attention to detail impressive. I am currently designing a new home with Jonathan. It has been an absolute pleasure. He collaborates with each client to allow the project to reflect the unique style of the client. He is not part of a huge architect firm and therefore is always accessible for questions. (And there are always questions :) ). When we were unable to sell our early 1900's home in a slow market, we decided we needed to expand for our expanding family. We contacted Jon to work us up some ideas. Between the limitations of little property and my need for the house to remain in keeping with the style and era of the house-I was not so sure we would be able to get what we needed. I was AMAZED at what Jon was able to vision and create for us!! We were able to get everything we needed, plus what we wanted!! I can't say enough about how happy we are in our "new" home and the number of compliments we get from our neighbors. Jonathan did a wonderful job understanding our ideas and making them an amazing reality. His attention to detail included lighting and shadows. He checked on our progress continually and worked with our builder to ensure the finished product was what we wanted. It was not easy to add a garage, breezeway and outdoor bar to our existing structure and lot but he did so in a manner that enhanced the overall homes appearance.
