About Us

LCI Design is a North Shore Vancouver-based design practice specializing in residential projects from a new build to renovation. Desiree graduated with a Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia in 1998. She has gained experienced after working for a number of notable firms on a wide range of projects from small to large scale residential, non-profit multiple housing, special needs housing, commercial and institutional. From the design of a renovation to the construction of a single family home, I work with clients to create spaces that reflect the needs and desires of the client. I assist clients with all the decisions so their home reflects their personality, lifestyle and budget. From a young age I have been passionate about design in all it's aspects of colour, texture, scale and composition. My motivation is to bring beauty and function into client's lives to enjoy everyday.

I worked with Desiree on my kitchen and living room renovation in the fall of 2023. Desiree came to my home and really listened to what I had to say. She was able to bring my "wish list" to life with designs that worked well with the rest of our home. She had helpful suggestions with respect to paint colours, fixtures and layout that hadn't occurred to me and I was able to incorporate these into our renovation. I appreciate that she didn't force style or design choices on me but considered my lifestyle and aesthetic in her design recommendations. I loved the way things turned out and would work with LCI design again for future projects!

We first talked to Desiree almost two years ago, and she was immediately very open to working with us on our new house build in northern BC. We gave her our idea for a floor plan and explained the look we were hoping to achieve with the exterior, and Desiree turned our dream into reality. We have had continuous, open communication throughout the project work. Any changes to the proposed design were made promptly without hesitation - the final change being quite significant as the entire house plan was flipped in orientation. Desiree is, and has been, a pleasure to work with. She provided us with numerous photos and links to illustrate ideas and suggestions to help in our decision making. She willingly took us to several different companies to review and discuss potential house building products, and also did this with our general contractor. Desiree has been extremely professional throughout this project, and answered any and all of our questions without making us feel as we were a nuisance. We are very fortunate to have connected with Desiree, and we highly recommend her for your dream project. It has truly been a pleasure to work with Desiree.

Desiree helped my husband and I design our home. We are newbies, so knew nothing about the process. Desiree guided us through the exterior and interior design process in a way that was easy to understand, yet informative. Desiree is easygoing and knowledgeable. She is flexible, in that she can adapt to various design styles, and guided us along in the homebuilding journey with her easygoing and low-stress approach. I found that she was easily available by telephone or text and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. I also appreciate that Desiree was willing to be frank and forthright when suggesting that we reconsider questionable design choices we had made. Desiree was a joy to work with, and she truly was imperative in making our vision become reality. I would recommend her to friends and family.

Her passion for mid-century design aligned perfectly with our values, and we found that we shared many similar design aesthetics. Working with Desiree LaCas was fun and an overall positive experience. She always listened to my ideas and expanded on them, but she also came up with things that I would never have thought of. She provided several options for each area of my renovation. Her drawings are awesome and extremely helpful in picturing how it would look like, and also to get estimates. Desiree was always available, flexible, and generous with her time. She replied immediately to my concerns, and provided professional guidance throughout my renovation.
