Since 2009 Alexis Nielsen has been creating beautiful interiors that reflect her clients’ tastes, personalities, and desires. To Lexi, design is about collaboration - listening to her client’s ideas and bringing those ideas to reality. Her successful business is unique in combining the basic tenets of home decorating and design with an overlay of feng shui principles.

Alexis came up with creative and beautiful solutions to update and brighten up our kitchen. She is super responsive, all of her design recommendations -from big things like layout changes to little things like hardward - were spot on, and her contractor recommendations were top notch and did such high quality work. She was even able to help cut down the time we would be without a working kitchen in half to accommodate a family member with health issues. So appreciative of her talents and thoughtfulness!

I've recently undertaken a long distance move, and I don't know what I would have done without Lexi's help with setting up my new residence . From developing a space plan for my furniture, color, lighting and carpeting selection, managing painters/electrician/other trades, her advice continues to be invaluable as I adjust to living in the Chicago area. And we did all of this long distance--I had a high level of confidence in her from our first conversation even though we had never met in person! Her design skills and knowledge of how to get things done efficiently will ensure that she will be my go-to person for the foreseeable future.

Lexi did a fantastic job in helping us with design and styling during our house renovation / addition. She assisted with paint colors, light fixtures, tile selection, furniture, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, etc. There wasn’t a room she didn’t touch/influence during our project. Lexi was budget conscious, always showed up to meetings on time and prepared and a great sounding board. She really helped bring our visions to life. What I appreciated most was that Lexi was thoughtful about making timeless choices / recommendations, not just what was currently trending.

Lexi is great. With her combination of feng shui and design expertise she is helping me transform my home. She's a good partner and is thinking not just how things look but how they open up the flow. I am planning to do a bunch more work with her, and I highly recommend her services!!

Lexi was wonderful in helping me design my Art Deco spare bedroom, complete with gold swirl wallpaper. She always recommends and finds great vendors and pieces, and really makes sure the room has function as well as style!

Alexis Nielsen is a remarkable decorator. She is enthusiastic and accommodating. She works with you to determine your style and then helps you make it a reality. In addition, she has a great eye for color. She is patient and relentless in finding the right colors while working within a budget. I consider myself lucky to have found her and to capitalize on her expertise. I recommend her highly. She helped us with window coverings for the master bedroom and living room. Simultaneously we reupholstered a living room sofa.

I can’t say enough about what a positive experience I had with Alexis Nielsen Interiors. My living was long overdue for new furniture and paint. I ‘m so happy that I contacted Alexis to help with this makeover project. The space configuration is challenging and I was very unsure of what would work in terms of paint color and furniture type. Alexis took the time to thoroughly listened to me and consider my needs, concerns and decor preferences. My past experiences with decorating were stressful. Alexis made this experience enjoyable and fun. We chose paint and furniture that works perfectly. The living room is beautiful. The best it has been in the 22 years we have lived here! I will call Alexis for all of my future home make over projects!

Lexi did an excellent job in helping me pick out exterior colors for my home and adding some finishing touches to my kitchen, dining room and living room. I particularly love my new countertops and custom curtains, and I have Lexi to thank for pointing me in the right direction! I’m already planning to use her for my bedrooms upstairs, and I look forward to future collaborations with her!

Lexi did a great job of helping us make furniture, paint and wallpaper selections for our new home, as well as recommendations for where to shop for furniture and other items. She also provided advice on the best layout for our living room and gave us other tips for the home. She cut the time we would have spent on research and decision making by at least 75%. Most importantly she did not push her ideas on to us- she listened to my husband's and my opinions (which are often divergent when it comes to design style) and offered suggestions that bridged both of our tastes. Engaging Lexi's services was was one of the best investments we made during the move process. I highly recommend her services!

Lexi has an incredible eye for design and color. We recently moved to a new house and Lexi pulled together a comprehensive color scheme (10 rooms) and window treatments (over 25 windows). She did a fabulous job. Several months later she helped us decorate our family room. It now looks pulled together and it has a kid friendly design. We have truly enjoyed working with her and look forward to doing it again.
