Kerry was amazing!!! We had a very large back and front yard landscape redesign including irrigation, brick borders, pathways, pathway lights, plantings of new trees and shrubs and a travertine deck extension. Kerry was so professional and responsive right from the beginning. He created a design that reflected our vision and brought it to life. All of his crews were professional and did really high quality work. Everything was completed on time (actually a little ahead of schedule) and it looks fabulous. We used Kerry Burt Associates Landscape Architecture for some long overdue planning and improvements on our still bare 1/3 acre lot from a 2004 built neighborhood. The existing property had two poorly placed and ill growing trees in front, but otherwise still bare. And in addition had a 3 ft. deep ravine running through the backyard lined with jagged rocks that were a hazard to our kids. Kerry helped us draw up a full plan for the front, side, and backyards that we could portion into pieces to execute as our budget allowed. For the first step we had his company create a brick border around our front flower beds, plant 8 trees in our side yard, and fill in the backyard ravine with a proper French drain and soil. We couldn’t be happier with the results! We will definitely be using Kerry to finish the rest of the beautiful plan he helped create.

We had a very positive experience working with Kerry Burt and his team. His communication and follow through were excellent, and he set realistic expectations on timelines and project length. We had a fairly large project completed in our backyard with sprinkler work, hardscaping and landscaping and all of the components were completed well and to expectation. We had a great experience working with Kerry & his team on our backyard project! Our 15 year old patio, pool and landscaping was dated and starting to fall apart so we ended up starting from scratch. The pool was re-surfaced, the patio expanded and new landscaping added. We also put in an outdoor kitchen & fireplace and added a beam to our patio overhang so we had more open space. We also put in improved drainage & landscape lighting. The project lasted a few months but was delivered on time, on budget and the work quality is high. Kerry Burt is an extremely talented Landscape Architect! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with him on our extensive backyard renovation project. He, and his team, transformed our bland patio into a charming English-style courtyard complete with travertine flooring and a beautiful stone vanishing fountain. Kerry also included a very nice stone outdoor kitchen area with granite countertops, built-in grill, and refrigerator. I contracted with Kerry Burt and Associates to transform my backyard to an attractive and inviting outdoor space and to add some plantings to the front and side yards. The first step was to ask for a landscape architectural design with pricing. This drawing was an excellent tool to conceptualize the full project and for submission to the HOA. This plan included: addition of 30 feet of black, attractive custom made metal fencing with gates, pouring concrete to extend the patio and covering it with travertine, new irrigation system, landscape lighting, new edging with concrete foundation, staining the rear concrete driveway, installing new zoysia grass, bushes, trees, plants and a 3-container water feature with fountains. Kerry and his crews were exceptional to work with and did not stop until we both agreed that it was correct and there was never any pressure to accept anything until we were satisfied. We wanted someone with experience in landscape design and installation and who would listen to our needs and wants. Kerry was the right guy for the job. He designed a beautiful outdoor living space and backyard that is perfect for relaxing, but also allows my husband to do his container gardening. He gave us a travertine stone patio and built an outdoor grill and stone wall, in addition to adding all the low maintenance landscaping. The one thing we would have done differently is to wait until spring to install the plants, instead of November. I would definitely recommend Kerry to my friends.

Kerry Burt was highly professional, and warm at the same time; a rare combination indeed. He immediately understood that I preferred an old courtyard look rather than a backyard garden.. My " courtyard" has that look, and both my husband and I have utilized the area in the 2 weeks since the project was completed, more than we have in the past 20 years. Kerry's crew were punctual, , organized, and cleaned up as much as possible after the day's work was completed.. All messages and calls were quickly returned, and Kerry's sugesstions added length and width to the entire area. The yard has a very open feell, which makes it look quite a bit larger than it actually is. Kerry utilized the crushed Granite, cobblestones, and astroturf ( in a small area bekind a bench on the side deck). This combination, along with Mexican Rocks brings to this area a warm, relaxing and interesting flow. There are 3 seating areas which enhanses entertaining as well. After viewing Kerry's work at my home, several neighbors , as well,as the Landscape Committee of the Homeowner's Association, contacted him. Kerry was initially recommended by a neighbor who is an Arborist. He told me that he worked with Kerry before and that we would be pleased. PLEASED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! Kerry was so professional from start to finish with my complete yard renovation. I removed most of the existing plants and replaced them with Kerry's drawing of plants that would look good with my house. I love everything he has done. Kerry acted as both the landscape architect and general contractor for a large project which included new backyard landscaping, flagstone patios and walkways, a fire pit and outdoor kitchen. Our yard is now beautiful, elegant and totally transformed, and the plan more than doubled the outdoor living space that we had before. We are extremely pleased with the final result. We used Kerry Burt & Associates to landscape our backyard and pool area, and to rebuild a stone retaining wall for us. First off, Mr. Burt's estimate was very fair as compared to other companies - we were actually very pleasantly surprised with the quote we received. In addition, although he told us he wouldn't be able to start until early July, he actually called us at the end of June and asked if he could start early. (Of course, we said yes.) Early in the process, we ran into one snafu with our stone retaining wall that had to do with drainage - our new wall was being built higher, but still had to allow for our neighbor's yard to drain. Mr. Burt and his crew came up with a very workable and attractive solution, installing hidden drains underneath the cap stones on the wall. Mr. Burt's crew did an outstanding job on the retaining wall. The landscaping and the new retaining wall (which now features an area where people can sit), has really changed improved the overall feel and appearance of our backyard. They chose great plants for us that seem to be holding up well in the heat, and the quality of their plants appears to be excellent thus far.

We hired Kerry Burt to redo a paver patio that my wife and I built a few years ago. It was a relatively simple job (or so I thought). The end result is far superior to what we had before. They think of every small detail. The crew is very concientious. After our initial contact, we changed our mind on the size of the project. That was no problem with Kerry. On the day they worked the project I threw him another curve (literally) on the shape of one end of the patio. Again, no problem. He cares not only about you and your project but he cares about and trusts his crew to carry out his wishes (or better) when he needs to leave the project for periods of time. I hired Kerry Burt & Associates to redesign my landscape in the spring of 2014. He did an amazing job! I wanted a drought tolerant landscape due to the water restrictions in our area. I also had a few special request that he was able to include in the plan. Through his design on paper, I was able to visualize what the design would look like in real life and it did turn out exactly as he had drawn. We recently moved in to a newly-constructed home on a 1 acre lot. We were excited to finally have a "blank canvas" to work with when it came to the landscaping and needed a landscape architect to help us with the vision and design. We hired Kerry Burt to provide us with a landscape plan for our new home that is still under construction. He was very prompt to meet us on the 3 acre property and walk the entire lot. Very attentive and listened to our vision of style and plant preferences . We requested a specific plan for the home perimeter, and a more conceptual plan for the broader spaces, i.e. wooded paths, future pond with mutli waterfalls, bridge, hobby vineyard. He then went back to property and measured grades and noted existing tree placement. In 2 weeks we met and he presented a very creative and beautiful hand drawn design that literally turned our home into a lovely country estate. He was very knowlegeable about plants suited to our soil and climate and plants that are wildlife resistant. Views from interior were considered to capture focal points. The plan took advantage of natural features such as slopes, grades, and dry creeks. The subtle winding driveway approach, which we hadn't thought of, maximizes curb appeal and peaks one's interest toward the ultimate view of the house. He also met with our builder to clarify details. We were provided with four copies of the plan. Would have liked one more meeting before receiving completed plans with a "rough draft" for minor changes, but those can be done when project begins and put those design hours into landscaping costs.

Kerry is very creative in his design, but respectful of limitations that we had with sun. He did not promise what he could not achieve and meet our time line. He was always very accessible and ready to discuss any concerns. I have recommended Kerry many times.

Kerry has done landscape designs for us on 2 different houses. We ended up moving, so did not use the 1st one, but at our new house, we loved the design so much, his company did the full landscape install. Kerry is thoughtful about the plants chosen, based on not only how much or how little maintenance the customer wants to do long term with these plants, but also what the right plants are for our North Texas environment. He considers sun/shade, color factors, drainage, fast/slow growth patterns, water usage and many other necessary factors when he creates his designs. He not only includes beautiful landscape designs for plants, but can also develop designs to include pools, waterfalls, fire pits/fireplaces, statues, decks, covered patios, playgrounds and other outdoor features. He is great at follow up! Kerry treats his customers fairly and with integrity and will exceed your expectations.
