I had the immense pleasure of working with Janet during the 2020-23 renovation of our 1953 ranch home. Janet worked on two remodel projects with the previous homeowner (kitchen and master bathroom). We loved her work so we decided to work with her on some interior design projects when we moved in (living room, dining room, family room, and master bedroom). She was great at picking furniture pieces that worked functionally, aesthetically, and financially for our family. She was great at repurposing our existing furniture as well. We highly recommend her and we are planning on using her for our future remodeling projects.

Janet helped us remodel our kitchen as well as fix up the rest of our 1932 home. She has impeccable taste and designed plans that were beautiful and functional and that just made sense. She really listened to the different things that my husband and I wanted out of our remodel, and gave us her objective, professional opinions without making either person feel bad. Her calm disposition was exactly what we needed in dealing with each other and with the contractors. She was very firm in holding them to the plans she had drawn, and a strong advocate for her clients. Janet also has the highest level of integrity and takes ownership of her work. I am unbelievably thrilled with the results and highly recommend her.

We purchased a 1920's duplex which had great bones but needed to be made livable and functional in today's world. Janet knew just what to do and without losing any of the duplex's integrity we now have a fabulous open kitchen and a great bathroom complete with a large shower, separate soaking tub and a double vanity! Kudos to Janet.

I met Janet with a client for a potential collaboration on a project. Unfortunately, due to building restrictions, the project didn't move forward. During the initial client meeting I found Janet to be insightful, informative, and very professional. She has an easy going personality which helped ease our potential client's fears about the renovation/design process. Janet Metson Urman is an excellent architect. My wife and I have worked with her on two major architectural projects: the renovation of our kitchen, and then several years later the complete renovation of our home, including a second story. Janet Metson Urman took the wish list we gave her for remodeling our 1940's house, and like a fairy godmother, made every dream we had for our home come true.
