As a residential builder and remodeler with 32 years in the industry, I can honestly say that Michael Lyons is the most competent and creative architect that we have worked with. Michael has extensive knowledge about how buildings are constructed, architectural styles, sense of scale and livability of a home. Michael also excels when challenged to make major design changes to existing homes that maintain balance and aesthetics. Budget always comes into play at some point in the design process and Michael is very accommodating when it comes to creative design changes that can help reign-in projects that exceed our clients budget. Michael is always our first choice to recommend to our clients that want to remodel or build a new custom home.

It was my great fortune to have Michael Lyons design my house. I can't speak highly enough of Michael and his uniquely inspired, beautiful, and consistently excellent work. He listened, captured, and improved the ideas I presented to him. And as needed, he came up with beautiful, creative new ideas to compliment the existing design. Working with him is a pleasure as he contributes ease, imagination, creativity, knowledge and experience, humor, and clarity in an easy, personable way. He is a singular, special talent.. If I were to build another house, I wouldn't consider using anyone but Michael.

Michael took my ideas, added his own and drew a plan for my new home that was what I wanted. Michael helped our southern dream home come to life! Our architecture plans were both practical and beautiful. We wanted an efficient floor plan designed around the way we lived. Michael delivered. We use every square foot of our house. No wasted space. We also wanted a beautiful southern house with classic architecture and intriguing details. Michael delivered in ways that we could not have imagined. His attention to detail continues to inspire us. I still wander around our home admiring the details that give our home depth and character.

After living in “used” houses for many years, we were finally ready to tackle the daunting task of building our new dream home. We were very fortunate that our builder referred us to Michael Lyons. After a lengthy and comprehensive interview in his office, he was able to quickly and efficiently create a spectacular home plan for us that matched perfectly with how we wanted to live in the home. To this day, my wife and I both credit Michael for a home that functions perfectly for us, so much so that years later I wouldn’t want to change a thing. I will still catch myself walking around both the inside and outside of the home and seeing for the first time details pop out that Michael included. More than just giving us what we wanted, Michael also kept us from making some bad decisions along the way. That’s no small task for an architect having to politely push back on two Type-A personalities! When the time comes, Michael will certainly be our architect for our next home too.
