MR Kitchens

This was a project that lasted approximately 8 months from the day I randomly walk through their office in Orleans to the day the kitchen work was completed, working with a third-party affiliated contractor. Working with the designer (Earl) has been a positive experience. He was creative and proposed a few good plans or ideas to start with. The preferred one was further developed, with patience and informed guidance. The custom-made cabinets were ready on time as per the contract. However, the contractual date was adjusted several times before signing the final plans. I experienced an issue with the installation of one of the countertop, but they took good care of fixing it quickly. I’m really satisfied with the end result: the design is excellent and the quality of the product meets my expectations. No issue experienced after 6 months so far. All friends and family love it!

So grateful to have found a company like MR Kitchens that truly appreciate their clients. Even though i asked hundreds of questions the staff took the time to make sure i felt confident and happy with all the decisions. I enjoyed working with my designer and when she was helping other clients the other designers stepped in to help. The proposed design makes my home look totally amazing. The quality and workmanship is second to none. I cannot find any faults with my cabinets and even the cabinet interiors were made with great care. I really appreciate that the quartz countertops do not show water stains like my previous granite countertop did. As promised they were delivered on time by a great team of installers. Shout out to Benjamin who made the installation process an enjoyable experience.

MR KITCHEN We signed a contract to have a new kitchen installed on May 11 2019. It is still not finished. They require the full payment installing the kitchen. But they are in no hurry to complete your kitchen. Here is a short list of the issues with this company. We received a schedule for delivery, installation, inspection by MR Kitchen and the countertop measurement date. The date the countertop company would come in to measure. 1)They barely made the delivery date, I took time off and had to call them to find out what was happening. 2)The installer showed up the next day and installed the kitchen. 3)Once completed we noticed many issues, cracked door, incorrect cabinet placement, wrong size cabinets…. And the list goes on 4)The installer did not follow the plan and we could not even slide our stove in its location. The cabinets were misaligned. 5)The designer did not leave enough room for doors to open so the blind corner baskets cannot slide out as they should. 6)The inspection was scheduled for the next day at approx. 8:00am. No one showed up so I called. 7)The service manager did not know where his inspector was??????????? 8)He never showed up to inspect before the countertop company came to measure. 9)Countertop company came the next day and measured for countertops. 10)I realized the measurements would be bad because the cabinets were not installed according to the plan. I called MR. No one returned my call. 11)I called the countertop company myself and had them put the countertop on hold. 12)Three days later and at the last minute they sent the inspector. They called me at work to say they would be there in 1 hour? Spent 2 hours identifying what had been done wrong. 13)We assumed they would fix it ASAP. WRONG 14)For the next 4 months when they sent technicians to fix, repair or replace, they had the wrong pieces or the wrong size doors or not all the parts... All of them wrote down size of doors and cabinets…. But somehow that information was lost every time. They would come back with mismatched pieces and 1 time with a door that was 1 foot to short. When they noticed the blind corner unit could not slide out the service manager said that that was normal.??? (I have the emails) 15)All they had to do was look at the plan but I think that is to logical. 16)They had no idea from one person to the next what was going on. 17)We are still missing toe kicks because last time they came the piece was 3 feet to short? 18)This was just a taste of what dealing with this company was like.

We were building a home in west Ottawa, and the builder was using MR Kitchens for all of their new construction homes. Our initial experience was with Earl in the Orleans showroom, and that was generally a very positive experience. Earl took what we liked and turned it into something we love. However, the post installation service has been horrific. HORRIFIC. We are missing 3 doors - one in our kitchen and two in our butler's pantry. We also have one door that is the wrong colour completely in our master bathroom. We are also missing a toekick in the kitchen. 3 times we have taken days off of work for MR Kitchens to come and do the post construction service. Twice they simply didn't show up - no call, no email, no apology. And once they came, but they didn't bring any of the doors that were missing and they didn't bring the missing toekick. They brought one door to replace in the master bathroom, but again it was the wrong colour. I email MR Kitchens and get absolutely no response. There is no phone number to contact the service department. I would absolutely never ever recommend MR Kitchens to anyone purely because of their post build service. Atrocious.

MR kitchens and Olistin did our renovation of kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, moving walls, etc and they were excellent to deal with from start to finish. They excelled in communication, project management design and delivery. We liked them so much we are using them again on another project now.

We had a good experience renovating our kitchen. MR Kitchens designer Earl Truelove did a fantastic job envisioning a new concept for our kitchen which involved relocating our refrigerator and oven and installing new cabinets. The design maximized our counter space and made our kitchen much more user friendly. Thanks to Project Co Coordinator Jean-Michel Lafontaine and the installation team for a job well done. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend MR Kitchens for your kitchen renovation project.

Had a good design experience but things went downwards from that point. We were pressured into signing a contract because there was a "sale" on countertops. We did not have the exact design but were assured the actual design would not be significantly more money. This was not the case and in fact, the all-in costs were significantly higher that the designer indicated. We have been trying to get a refund since late 2015 to no avail. The people we dealt have mostly all left the company. Be wary of providing deposits unless you have the final design and the final quote for the contracting work so you avoid our mistake. Make sure that all costs are detailed so you know what this will cost you. Further the contractor they work with provides a detailed breakdown of costs but the work is not cheap.

From the planning stages to the final finishing details, we found our experience pleasant for a variety of reasons, despite the inevitable disruption caused by kitchen renovations. First, the staff is attentive, knowledgeable and respectful of their clients' budget. Design was very much a team effort, so we felt comfortable suggesting modifications to suit our needs. The whole process was explained clearly and went exactly as planned. The work began on time and any minor glitches along the way were resolved quickly. Calls and emails were answered within hours, if not minutes, avoiding any delays in the work. Without exception, the various workers were punctual, highly skilled and very nice. Most importantly, we love the final outcome: a modern, elegant, functional kitchen that blends perfectly with the adjoining family room. The cabinets are beautifully crafted. Great job done by all involved. Highly recommend MR Kitchens.

Our work by MR Kitchens was completed in a very professional and courteous manner in February 2016. The work involved renovation of our corridor kitchen. We are very pleased with the end result because we now have a modern and very functional kitchen. MR Kitchens attention to detail and quality workmanship was appreciated. The quality control work once the renovation completed was also timely and appreciated.

Great workmanship on the cabinets and installation. Design ideas were discussed to meet our needs and a coloured stained was developed to suit our liking. Friendly and competent staff.

MR Kitchens renovated the kitchen of our 1990s home and we can't say enough about the process and the results. We hired their sister company, Olistin Homes, and the entire project was managed on time and on budget, which I understand is virtually unheard of in renovations. The quality of the product and the workmanship are exceptional. Everyone we dealt with, from the designer the estimator to the project manager to the installer and to the subtrades, every single person was committed to giving us a quality renovation experience and result. Everyone who visits our home oooooos and ahhhhs at the results. It was an incredible transformation, and the new kitchen also fits in well with the rest of our home. I strongly recommend MR Kitchens for your kitchen renovation. You simply can't go wrong.
