Renovate Right NY

This company subcontracted my basement to Built Right NY (ROY) by Jeff Geller. I have had communication issues with Roy and Jeff together and seperately. I have had 2 electical issues, one they deny and called out my family member as unintelligent. When I got an electrician to come in and fix what the issue both of them got defensive. 1. Bathroom shower floor installed incorrectly and had to be replaced/redone. 2. ceiling not finished painting, paint smudges left on ceiling from wall paint, seams on floor molding are not met. They did not cork those gaps nor cover the nail holes. 3. Told me specifically there is not receptical plate for the dryer plug, but somehow one appeared. 4. left 2 roughed out holes in my laundry area and I had to say something about it becasuse at that point they told me they were done with the work. 1 hole still remains that I will get somone else to patch up. 5. Asked for an Egress, got it all but the screen. 6. Electrical workmanship is poor. See these photos. Becasue other parts of my house suddenly have no power my electrican had to cut holes in my basement celing and living room ceiling to fix the issue, see their duct tape work here. My electrian said there are code violations there. This job cost approx 73k (I had other work done in other places. Not the total cost of basement finishing) and I authorized an early payment to the company becasue I was assured it will all work out. 7. He allowed his workmen to urinate on the side of my garage.( I have things here mind you they are urinating on) I caught it on video camera and I was told that is a normal thing. There is no way they are coming back to my house. I learned a few lessons here. *Update: After a licensed electrician came to my home to fix the issues I found out I was missing GFI's, Lack of outlets(per code there needs to be a specific amount) no tamper resistant outlets, the bathroom fan is not rate for it's location, there is no area fault protection, open splices, wiring too close to surface and wiring not properly being supported. I have a bill for 800.00 just to fixed the spliced lines and will have him back to do the list of violations that he discovered.

FULL HOUSE RENOVATION/REMODEL! My husband and I had a vision when purchased the house to fully renovate it and make it our home. Jeff, and his team Danny, Oscar and others made our dream a reality. Very nice crew and they truly know what they doing, which it puts as at ease knowing we were in good hands. Any hiccups were addressed in a timely fashion and through the challenges they left our house brand new. This was a huge project and despite our doubts and fears, they delivered and we are truly happy and satisfy with this company’s service. Jeff is the heart of the company and we can tell why, he is not your typical contractor. He actually cares and that to us was what sold us to go with him as opposed to the other contractors we compared him with. I wouldn’t hesitate to do another project with them again! Working with Renovate Right was the best decision I made. My basement was unfinished and the finished product was beyond my imagination. Jeff made a suggestion of how to complete my staircase by capping the stairs with the same wood color as the floors and they came out great. Oscar, Danny, and Ben all had their expertise in their own areas. They all worked well together and were meticulous in their work. They took pride in all they did, from the biggest to the smallest details. My wet bar and bathroom came out amazing. The wall unit Oscar built in the media area came out fantastic. The electric fireplace that he built into the wall made the final touch to complete the area. The workmen are easy to work with and aim to please the customer. They are hard workers and show up for work everyday. Besides the basement, I needed a new garage door, a railing installed on my front steps outside and my walkway repaired. Jeff knew who could take care of these things for me and they were done beautifully. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to do any type of renovation. I used Renovate Right to Build a portico, build a front porch, replaced vinyl siding in the front of house with new vinyl sided panels, new gutters new window shutters, new paver stone walkway, etc. Jeff is a reliable and honest contractor. He's very responsive and always around to check on the jobs progress. He has a keen eye for detail and design. His carpenter, Danny, has to be one of the best on LI, and his other tradesmen know their fields as well. I am completely satisfied with the job that Renovate Right performed on my house. It was well coordinated and took less time than I expected. They are also neat, reliable and punctual. I have received many compliments on my "new" house from neighbors and passers by. Highly recommend.

I read all the glowing reviews, I met Jeff and listened to his sales pitch and then I got the price. It all seemed too good to be true and thought there had to be some kind of catch. Jeff and his crew were easy to work with, always showed up on time and did immaculate work. I kept waiting for the catch but the materials he used were higher quality, his price was lower and the work was excellent. There was no catch! I will be using them again for all my major projects. You would be crazy not to as well.

I had my bathroom renovated. Jeff and his team were very polite and professional. They did a great job with my bathroom and I am very happy.

Jeff and his team of Renovate Right updated the front of our house. WOW!!! Almost drove past it one day. It looks beautiful. Jeff had great suggestions that we followed and were glad we did. His team was professional, courteous and pleasant. The job was completed in one day. Jeff came by the next day to make sure we were completely satisfied. If I can give this company a perfect 10, I would. Jeff the owner of Renovate Right has become more like a friend than simply contractor. Like Adam said, Jeff is available every step of the way before the job, during the job, after the job and way way after the job. What I like most about Jeff is his patience and able to get in touch with him anytime and he gets back to me in time. I hired Jeff TWICE already and he is my GO-TO guy for all my home renovation needs since he has earned my trust. He has an eye for passionate work for what he does best: transformation of ordinary into extraordinary high end masterpieces. His wife, Jocelyn, the office manager makes things happen as this is a tight family business. Every time I see my house, I feel so happy seeing the house and feel like it was just completed yesterday with the modernization that only add value for the long run with just a very positive feeling of happiness of WOW! A couple of things about Jeff is he comes with you to Home Depot to help you select what you may need and my favorite is Renovate Right has an A rating from the Better Business Bureau which helps him stand out from everyone else. His accessibility, A rating from BBB, the personable nature Jeff takes out of his busy day and sometimes on his days off to give estimates and to meet with you is a unique feature of Renovate Right. Jeff is a forward thinker and thinks ahead of time by arranging a dumpster to be left out by the garage and arranges for materials to be delivered so there is no delay to start. Jeff has a noble plan for payment and only takes final payment on complete satisfaction Danny: this guy made the plumbing in my house perfect. In addition, he installs doors and a bunch of other things while making things perfect again. Oscar: avid painter, daredevil installing lights in an obscure area, making things happen. Otto/crew: this guy is amazing, tears out and installs siding in 19 degree weather of siding all around, installing shaker siding on the front and installation of all lights supplied by customer. Don: avid painter and nice guy All I can say is Thank you Renovate Right for the two times you have worked on my house and leaving a super feeling of quality workmanship with people I can trust. Everyone who worked on the house were extremely polite, took pride in all they did, incredibly friendly, and hardworking bunch of people. While Otto was working for the siding, they needed a power source so I entrusted Jeff with the key and they all cleaned up after themselves leaving the house the way they found it. At the end of the day, they went above and beyond and that's all there is. Thank You Renovate Right for the thoughtful touch ups and the super energy instilled in the house. On a final note, Thank you Jeff for all that you have done! I wish you were on the west coast too taking care of my folks house out there. Jeff is very passionate about what he does, has a keen eye for creativity, and is a funny personable dude when he is seriously working! 3rd time work: Pending (list still being compiled) - yes will hire again! On a final note, we had a few hiccups along the way due to miscommunication and misunderstanding so both (customer and contractor) were not on the same page so to speak but now it's all good! I wish Jeff was based out west so he and his men could work out west on my folks home too. You simply will not find a better company than Renovate Right - it doesn't get any better than this folks!
