We had just done a lot of work on our home and I was stuck on finding a wallpaper - Michelle came in and we picked one within an hour, it was installed within the next couple weeks by her installer, and we picked out fabric for the curtains as well. All perfect. She is decisive and detail oriented. So happy with my dining room. Highly recommend Re-Feather your Nest and especially Michelle!

We purchased a much bigger house than the one we were currently living in, so I knew I needed help. The problem is, I know what I like when I see it, but have no idea what goes with what and what type of furnishings would complement my new transitional style home. I found Michelle Gonnella (Re-Feather Your Nest) on Houzz.com and was so glad I did. I am a Type A personality, and am very blunt when asked for my opinion. Michelle was a perfect fit. She took the time with me to go to different furniture stores; had patience with me while I was on the fence with many different fabrics; helped me by putting me in touch with master builders and artists to create my amazing library (favorite room in the house); she took the time to understand our needs (bad back, pet, young kids with special needs) and worked her magic. I could reach her any time. She replied to any questions quickly. If any problems arose; like a fabric or item being discontinued; she was quick to remedy the situation by finding me great alternatives. Michelle came up with great floor plans, colors, window treatments and lighting ideas, and kept me grounded when I was going out of my mind trying to decorate four huge rooms (two of which I did not even have in the last house). Anyone who has visited our house has complemented us on our new furnishings. I know we have more to do in the future, and I will definitely call her when I am ready to design the rest of my home.

Susan and Michelle helped me create my dream home! When the opportunity came up for us to move into a larger home and give us more space, I couldn't wait. Then once we moved in, reality set in on how to actually decorate some of these spaces. In particular was a very large Great Room that I didn't even know where to start with. Enter Susan, who helped take that large, imposing room and turned it into a warm, cozy, inviting room for the whole family. Working with the existing color scheme in the rest of the house, Susan picked out colors, fabrics and styles that really spoke to my taste. She was even able to design the room around a chair that my husband wanted. We are so thrilled with the results! Susan helped in other areas of our home as well with furniture placements, dressing some very large built in bookcases, and just adding those 'right' touches to the more formal rooms in the house. In fact, I used the hate my Living Room in my old house. To me it was functional and nothing more. Now, after the little touches that Susan added, it is one of my favorite spaces in the whole house. Michelle really helped finish off the look of the house. I knew from the start that I was going to use a professional to do all the window treatments seeing as the house has SO MANY windows. I knew what I liked and didn't like, and in some rooms knew exactly what I wanted, but in others I was stumped. Michelle helped me navigate those waters easily. She helped me get the look I was going for, and in a lot of areas helped me save money while doing it. Her recommendations of fabrics that looked like silk but were not were great choices for the formal areas. She also worked with me on modifying my hardware that I had brought from my previous home or matching it where needed. She even helped come up with a way to install a plantation shutter on an odd shaped window in a bathroom. Her installers were fantastic and very neat/clean. I was very happy that I had both Susan and Michelle assist me with my new home and look forward to continuing working with them as more projects arise.

As this was our second installation by Refeather Your Nest, we knew what to expect. Michelle Gonella, who we'd worked with before, clearly knows window shades and decorating -- she's quick to suggest alternatives that make sense, whether in style, color, or operation. She also keeps up on new products, can describe how the new products compare to older ones, as well as how new shades operate and should be maintained. Michelle is also good at suggesting styles and colors that blend in with furniture and paint colors, whether they are new or existing furniture/paint colors. So she makes it possible to add window treatments to an existing room that work well without requiring full redecoration of an entire room -- good in creating less upheaval and good in controlling overall cost. From our discussions with her, she's also very knowledgeable about drapes and curtains, not just shades. She has been very helpful and great to work with both times we've consulted her and used her service.

I enjoyed working with Michelle so much! I wanted to update my living room and needed guidance. I was especially concerned with my windows and asked Michelle to help. She helped me choose drapes and the hardware and made suggestions on length etc . She also considered my budget which I really appreciated. We also picked out some area rug options at that 1st meeting and she had samples mailed to me. I used her installers who were wonderful. I just love the way the drapes look! The room is so different now and I can't wait for the new carpet. I smile every time I walk into the room now. Michelle also made some simple suggestions, at my request, for my bedroom. I changed the bedroom furniture around as she suggested and we cannot believe the difference. The room makes sense now and we feel like we have much more space. I am a realtor who lists and sells many high, end homes. I was recently chosen to list a beautiful, custom home in. After seeing the professionally decorated home, I thought there wasn't much room for improvement but hired Michelle to help stage it for the sale. Was I ever wrong! Her suggestions to remove some window treatments, wallpaper, accessories and furniture, or simply to re-arrange what was there had amazing results. Every change highlighted or uncovered the wonderful qualities of the home without being forced or obvious. Almost 60 realtors toured the home and there wasn't one who didn't comment on how beautiful it was. I was in the middle of a kitchen remodel, including the powder room and laundry room when I knew I needed help. I was feeling very frustrated. I had a design that was lovely, but not functional for me, the cost was rising out of control and no one was listening to me! Finding Susan was like reuniting with an old friend. Our first meeting she listened to me, asked questions and reviewed my budget. Susan offered solutions that brought the project back under my control and within my budget, while remaining respectful of those already involved and decisions already made. A true professional. I love how Susan combines custom made and ready made products in her work. She will incorporate furniture and accessories you already own that you just won't or can't let go. Susan showed me how to choose colors in the kitchen that blend beautifully with the adjacent rooms. Susan will visit and revisit as many times as it takes until she is sure that you are comfortable with your selections. She is a true gem, a rare find as they say. Can I give her more than 5 stars??!!

Susan Hayes did an excellent job of improving the functionality of the closets in our home in a very creative way that is consistent with the way we live. She created a book library from a walk-in closet that looks similar to a wine cellar and it holds the hundreds of books that were cluttering our home. She also created a functional closet in the guest bedroom for hanging and drawer storage along with an area for towels and linens. We were very impressed with her creativity, timeliness and she was very easy to work with. I have hired her again.

Susan Hayes is an artist in her field. I am very pleased with her knowledge and her ability to connect with me. After our first meeting, she knew what I was looking for and successfully brought it to fruition. She is a pleasure to work with and on subsequent occasions continued to fulfill my expectations helping to find new purchases. Most recently she restaged a room and it is spectacular. Susan is fantastic! She helped me move from a 4 bedroom center hall colonial to a town home. I picked some furniture I wanted to bring with me and she worked around it. She picked all the paint colors for me which are fabulous! She also helped select window treatment and light fixtures and provided advice on how to put furniture in the room. She selected a great color for the kitchen cabinets. It has all come together in such a great way. It looks awesome and I have Susan and Re-Feather Your Nest Decorating to thank for all of it. Susan provided outstanding service helping us to settle in our new home. She has a great personality and is a delight to work with. Her focus is on making selections to your likings and comfort. She helped us to make our existing furnishings work in a new smaller space as well as helping us acquire new furnishings where we wanted to make changes. Her services included selection of paint colors, placement of furniture and artwork, as well as the acquisition of new furniture, artwork, and window treatments. She connected us with a variety of other vendors who are also of high quality such as handymen and seamstresses. Susan is able to meet a budget and always met her schedule commitments.

I needed my very dated living room to come into this decade, so I asked Susan Hayes, a total miracle worker, to come and see if she could help my 1980's room. She came for an initial appointment and suggested a change of paint. After we painted the room, we put all the stuff back, but didn't hang anything on the walls yet. Well, in a matter of minutes my room was transformed and brought current to the year 2014. We moved carpets, we moved around the current living room furniture and incorporated furniture from other rooms, got rid of some of the wall hangings and put up some of the others, an hour later, voila - MAGIC! We only had to buy paint and some curtain panels that coordinated with the valances. The transformation was really astounding, even my husband was amazed. We never used our living room, and now I find myself having tea in there every morning and finding excuses to go in there. Susan's professionalism and knowledge combined with a good sense of style and taste, can transform any space beautifully. On top of all that she is so reasonable. You can also tell that she really loves what she does and it shows in the excellence of her work. I will use her again and again. Susan is a real find!
