When we first met Rick we were immediately impressed by his honest, straight forward pricing including the role of his sub-contractors and how the work would progress. He completely remodeled our 43 year old kitchen and we could not be more pleased and happy with the workmanship, especially his expertise at building the cabinets himself although there were major obstacles due to duck work and plumbing. We admired his total focus on the job, commitment to the schedule and willingness to do extras for us that were not part of the contract. We were truly happy when he found the counter top we particularly wanted at a good price. This is just one of several aspects of his attention to detail and commitment to producing quality and his dedication to customer satisfaction. We wanted a new kitchen for years. We researched many kitchen contractors and couldn’t decide until we met with Rick Taylor. We immediately knew this is the contractor we could trust to do our project. He understood what we wanted and guided us through the design process to make our perfect kitchen. We have an older home, built in 1947, and there were some challenges. Rick knew what needed to be done to overcome the challenges and made it happen. Rick is a true craftsman in cabinet building and carpentry. The cabinets are custom built by Rick to fit exactly to the area so there is no wasted space and the cabinet quality is excellent. His subcontractors are also top notch and did a great job dealing with our old house challenges. His timeline for the project completion date was met. We have done many home renovations ourselves over the years so we are very familiar with working with contractors. When we purchased our new home a year ago, we knew we wanted someone with experience to redo our kitchen, which spiraled into redoing much of our first floor. Our friends had used Rick for their kitchen remodel, and had highly recommended him to us. Our project was a big one -- we decided to knock out the wall between our dining room and kitchen to make one large kitchen, requiring a flush mount beam, a new window, moving our garage entryway door, and replacing the floors in the entire first floor. We worked with Rick on our design ideas and he was excellent to work with in making suggestions and being flexible to our vision. Rick told us he meticulously plans and schedules his subcontractors to have kitchens done quickly. We were understandably skeptical that he could complete our extra large kitchen remodel in only 4 weeks, so we mentally added another month to that just to be safe. LOL. But we needn't have worried. Rick started demo on our old kitchen on October 21, and he had packed his tools for his next job by November 22. The only reason it was bumped an extra few days was because the flooring we ordered got damaged (by the supplier, nothing to do with Rick & crew) and we had to wait an additional few days for the new floors to arrive. There were still a few odds and ends to finish up as with any project, but we had a functional kitchen back in the promised time. Incredible. Living through a kitchen remodel is one of the most intrusive and stressful construction projects you can undertake. This is our second kitchen remodel (the first we did ourselves) and I was floored with how fast, hardworking, and NEAT Rick is. Despite the very messy job of kitchen construction, Rick left his tools tidy every day and did his best to keep the space neat. Literally anytime I showed friends and family progress pictures, they commented on just how clean the space was kept so it's not just me! Rick is so friendly and easy to work with, too. He was a pleasure to have in our home during the remodel. Another part of the process that I really appreciated was Rick's transparency in pricing. There are no hidden gimmicks, and he even walked us through a few of his previous contracts to explain how he calculates his prices at our initial meeting. When the bill was finally due, Rick was nearly exactly on with his estimate. I was honestly shocked. We found his prices to be comparable or lower than other estimates, and his cabinets are all custom made on site, so you are also getting the beauty of custom cabinetry. I enthusiastically recommend Rick Taylor to anyone looking for a home kitchen remodel. He made our kitchen dream a reality and we love the final product so much!

Rick Taylor deserves more than five stars. He is personable, knowledgeable and committed to any and all of his projects. It is challenging to capture all project expenses, schedule durations and accurate scope within a week but Rick nailed it and exceeded those dedications. Rick scoped out our kitchen renovation in a quick visit and within five business days had an accurate proposal ready for review. From proposal to project completion, Rick was detailed throughout. We decided to use Rick Taylor of Annapolis Heirlooms to renovate our kitchen. We met with him twice to go over our plans before signing a contract. It was clear to us that (1) he was extremely knowledgeable about the business; (2) he showed us the quality products he would use; (3) he suggested some things that we ourselves did not think about and that we adopted, and he asked us what we wanted to supply ourselves and indicated which additional items we would have to provide; (4) by providing a timeline (3-4 weeks) in which to complete the work we knew what to expect; and (5) explained the terms of the contract in a very understandable manner; the estimated price was very reasonable. Rick drew up detailed plans of the renovation so we could see the details of the work. The renovation was completed several days earlier than promised! What really made this a top quality job was that he relied on a network of expert support as needed (electrician, drywall, plumber, and counter-top expert). The effort of this “team” resulted in a kitchen renovation that we are totally pleased with. As is usually the case, unexpected things typically arise in such a project, and Rick took it upon himself to remedy these: making a trip to find a new valve for the refrigerator, making calls to find a repair man for the dishwasher, to name a couple. Bottom line: We are totally pleased with the product, the time it took to do the work, and the final price.
