We are a week away from moving into our new, RP Morrison-built home on Sebago Lake in Windham, Maine. We found the Morrison’s in August, 2019. Roland, Josh and Jenny came to our soon to be demolished summer-only lake home for what we thought was an opportunity for us to decide on whether we should hire them. Turns out they were deciding on whether they should hire us as well. It didn’t take long for Roland, the patriarch of the firm, to look across the table and say, “We’re interviewing you too.” Touche Roland. Speaking for myself it was “these are the right guys” at first sight. My less emotional and far more experienced construction project manager wife took a little longer but not much. We got a twofer that day as well. Jenny Morrison is a top notch designer, and her experience would play a major role in the interior of the home as construction progressed. We hired her company, Morrison Design House, the same day we hired RP Morrison Builders. We knew we were about to embark on a long journey. We’d sold our Montana vacation home and would soon sell our Chicago home. Mary Ellen had spent months with Chicago Architect Frank Klepitsch of Graceline designing the home that would be the culmination of all we’d learned from the homes we’d rehabbed, built from scratch or purchased over our 38 years together. Now we had a partner in the Morrison’s that understood the quality we wanted and how to deliver it. Carpenters Russ, Joe, Pete and Mike brought the drawings to life. Keith’s custom mill work was superb. Josh and Roland were always on top of the project and brought us Maine-builder solutions that increased the value of the home. Jenny fundamentally rethought the interior, leading us to a nature-based, natural wood approach that we have fallen in love with. She worked with us to pick the new furniture, plumbing and light fixtures, wallpaper, paint finishes, the list goes on. She pushed us out of our comfort zone and we found a new one in which we couldn’t be happier. All of the subcontractors were not only top notch professionals, they were people we’d be happy to have in our home anytime. We are nearing completion and our only regret is they will be moving on to another project. Fortunately they have evolved from our contractor to our friend.

We did a total home renovation. Morrison builders were a joy to work with. They worked well with our architect, had fabulous interior design advice and ideas, communicated every step of the way, and came in on time and within budget (except where I spent more on finishes). The quality of their work is exceptional. I highly recommend them.

We had an excellent experience with RP Morrison - it was ideal for us to work with a smaller firm, and we appreciated the family-owned/operated aspect. Josh, Roland and Jenny were a pleasure to work with, and we couldn't be happier with the end product. The home was built over the winter of 2014/5, which was an extremely rough winter in Maine. That said, the crew worked incredibly hard and delivered the house to us on time. Any punch item issues have been promptly and professionally handled. We highly recommend the team at RP Morrison!
