Sam is a Wanaka-based interior designer that we highly recommend. Having lived and worked overseas for many years Sam is able to bring a global perspective to her projects that gives her the edge. She is very approachable, friendly and proactive in finding solutions and sourcing items that really meet her specific clients needs. Sam understands that each client is different, and so tailors her designs and recommendations to each client's desires and their budget. Her vast knowledge of the industry and her contacts enables her clients to benefit from her wealth of experience and her awareness of the interiors market, as well as global trends. Sam helped me to completely change the look of our dark and dated, hodge podge living area. It has ended up being just what I hoped for - fresh, clean lines, white and neutral tones with "pops" of colour. Sam was very flexible in being able to meet with me within the hours that worked for both of us. She offered many websites to look at to get ideas for pieces I mentioned and sourced the major items for me. She also provided moodboards with all the ideas we discussed in the initial consultation and she presented a very reasonable quote for her services We had an issue with one piece that arrived (sight unseen via a website) and she graciously returned the item and absorbed the high cost of the return freight, then ordered another which was perfect. I was uncertain about the very large floor mat and changed my mind a hundred times....Sam didn't once push me to make a decision but steered me in the right direction and ordered samples for me to have on the floor to get a good feel for what it would look like. The floor mat is the largest item and really pulls the whole room together I'm super happy with our final choice. I loved that Sam understood that I wanted a look that would last and could be changed easily by just updating some smaller items like cushions or prints on the wall. She worked with some pieces I already had and wanted to keep. She also worked within my smallish budget. At the time I felt like the project took too long, but in hindsight I'm happy we didn't rush it and Sam allowed me to take the time to make decisions and offered her professional opinion when I needed it. I'm still filling spaces and still referring to ideas Sam gave me. Thanks Sam and best of luck.

Our company, North West Property Consultants, have worked with Sam since 2011 on numerous residential projects across the North West. Her eye for style, her professionalism, her can-do attitude and overall work ethic have been invaluable to our business. Whether it was assisting private clients with interior choices for their home designs, following specific briefs to furnish luxury units for corporate clients, styling our display homes and even adding that extra wow factor to our portfolio of holiday rental properties, it goes without saying that Sam has added enormous value to our business. Such was the impression she left on us, our Managing Director engaged her services to style his private harbour-side residence in Fremantle. We were sad to see Sam leave for NZ but wish her the very best for the future. I used Sam from sd interiors thought the process of building and furnishing my new home. Sam guided me through paint colours, exterior and interior colours, tile choices and kitchen splash back ideas. I would have been totally lost without her guidance, especially when faced with all the tile choices! She worked with me and our budget to come up with a feature kitchen splash back that had the look I wanted but within our budget. I love the finished kitchen. Following the completion of construction I engaged Sam to assist with window coverings, designing an in built bookcase and furnishings. Sam is incredibly creative and drew me up a bookcase design which the carpenter was able to execute easily and achieved my desired outcome in terms of storage and aesthetics. Sam has a wonderful eye for design - I purchased two custom made stools from her which I love and use daily. She is excellent at sourcing products that were within my limited budget but still very stylish. I love everything that she does and couldn't be more happy with the services she provided. Sam is a wonderful person, she puts you at ease instantly. With her cool, calm demeanour and a master of the art of gentle persuasion. She listens to you, finds out how you live, what you like and then goes away and comes back with ideas and mood boards (I think that is what they are called) that reflect your tastes and needs. She doesn't push anything on you, she listens to what you like and you chat through ideas together. We were lucky enough to have Sam involved on our house from the start. We built and designed our own house (with a local builder) and then had Sam's input on everything from kitchen worktops to making our cushions. She is wonderfully talented and has a fresh signature style. I would recommend anyone to use Sam. You spend so much time at home, it should be a place you love to be and thanks to Sam our home is our sanctuary.

Sam's, great ideas, willingness to work in with both my own ideas and the builders ideas was fantastic and certainly not easy when I am one to change my mind often! Her network of buyers to source sometimes hard to find items like my kitchen & bathroom pendants was incredibly helpful. Most of all Sam has a unique ability to understand her clients taste and style and work up her concepts keeping this in mind. My kitchen, bathroom and ensuite wouldn't look so stunning or be so practical without SD Ineriors involvement. SD Interiors have been involved with the following projects: 1.
