Shannon and I met when clients brought her into a project I'd designed. As we got to know her and her abilities, we realized how great she was with clients and how easy she is to work with. She's very competent and does the tedious work of managing the interior design, scheduling and details with skill and ease. She takes advantage of the latest industry technology to produce workable and detailed drawings of her designs and works with all the trades to assure they have what they need. Her temperament and talents make meetings productive and fun and she brings great ideas and insight to our projects. She's been a wonderful member of the team and the homes we've worked on together wouldn't be nearly as nice without her. I recommend her highly.

My husband and I are current clients of Shannon White Design. We are building a contemporary hillside home that will be completed near the end of 2013, and have spent several months with Shannon developing interior design concepts for our new space. Shannon has an artist’s eye for color and proportion, and listens carefully with the goal of having the finished home represent our lifestyle and taste. In the early stages of planning, we needed to choose kitchen and bathroom tile and counters, plumbing fixtures, and wood flooring and cabinet colors. What could have been overwhelming given the multitude of choices turned into delightful outings to local showrooms and suppliers. Shannon was able to find products we love and cannot wait to see installed, but are still within our budget. Her help guiding us through the decision process has been invaluable, and has taken the stress out of decision-making. Shannon is a true professional and a delight to work with. She communicates clearly, and interacts effectively with our architect and builder, and has an established relationship with the local showrooms. She represents concepts through design drawings to help us visualize tile layouts or furniture placement options. She has brought up some important issues we had not thought about, and suggested solutions for us to consider. Shannon finds creative, budget-wise design ideas while keeping the process fun, and we thoroughly enjoy working with her.

I am delighted to highly recommend Shannon White Design for any build or rebuild project. She designed and oversaw the construction of two remodeled bathrooms in my home with flair and ingenuity. She was a delight to work with, was respected by the builders, and kept the whole project within budget (a miracle considering the complexity of the job and my limited funds)! The job was very complicated both in terms of design and construction. The design challenge was to transform cramped, dark, mid century "modern" baths complete with yellow formica to updated, airy rooms while retaining a continuity with the original natural concept of this redwood and glass designer built solar home. The construction challenge involved extensively reconfiguring the plumbing, electrical, and heating systems within a very constrained area and required extensive foundation work. Shannon met these challenges creatively and professionally. She listened carefully to my concept of wood and windows, "found" some extra room from a contiguous closet and was able to add a tub and window where there was "no space". Her reconfiguration of plumbing, heating, and lighting created very efficient but also warmly inviting spaces. Her death of knowledge and experience were reflected in her choice of stone, fixtures, paint and stain color, as well as accents, and made the rooms unique and beautiful. Shannon's work speaks for itself (see before and after pics). My new bath is my favorite room in the house, guests constantly compliment the work. I was sorry to see her go on to her next project.

Shannon White is a bright, talented, perceptive, and insightful professional. We spent several months working together designing, detailing, and building a "contemporary craftsman" home in Portola Valley for clients involved in every detail. She was able to communicate her concepts through sketches, samples and graphic descriptions. The owners were adamant about having a "green" design both inside and out. We had lived in our house for three years, but every wall was still white and the window coverings were simple or nonexistent. We hired Shannon White Design to help give our home a "finished" look. Shannon was wonderful to work with. Before she even began, she talked to us about what we wanted in terms of look and feel, and about our budget, and made sure we had common expectations about what we were going to do. Shannon was wonderful to work with. My husband and I are pretty design ignorant, so we relied on Shannon to make a lot of the decisions (although I'm sure she would work just as well with a client who wanted to be more hands on). She gave us choices (but not so many that we would be overwhelmed) and she found the painters and craftspeople to do the work. She made recommendations about a few new pieces of furniture that we never would have thought of ourselves and really brought the rooms together. The whole project was seamless, painless, and under budget, and we are thrilled with the result.
