Chris at DesignWorks designed a very unique house and barn for me, based on historical drawings and photographs. Then his team constructed both buildings from the ground up, with the highest-quality materials and workmanship, and finished them beautifully. Everyone was professional, skilled and open to my ideas, from start to finish. The other contractors I talked to before I found DesignWorks were only able to offer me "cookie cutter" options. DesignWorks Construction served as the architect and project supervisor for a non-profit building renovation in Floyd County, VA. Chris Prokosch contributed the project estimate and architectural drawings. He then provided excellent oversight to the entire project. The DesignWorks crew completed several components for the project- the quality of the work was excellent. I would highly recommend DesignWorks for any renovation project!

DesignWorks Construction was our contractor for three separate remodel projects. First our kitchen and library; several years later it was two bathrooms and finally a carport/porch addition including a new entrance for the house inspired by our need for single floor living. All phases of all three jobs were handled to our satisfaction and beyond. Chris was always able to quickly understand our design goals and produced plans that were interesting and practical. Not only did the projects make our house more livable but Chris helped to solve problems created by the original design. All construction steps were on schedule and as planned. Chris was directly involved throughout. His crew and all subcontractors he brought to these projects were good to work with and did good work. My only regret about my relationship with DesignWorks is that my wife and I are not in a position to build a new house. I know for certain that I would enjoy designing and building with Chris, Shannon and the rest of the DesignWorks team. I can't imagine saying that about another contractor.

Chris Prokosch, Design Works Construction, has done two projects for my wife and me, in Floyd County, VA. First, he built a cabin and platforms to support three yurts. Second, he rehabilitated an old log cabin to make a small studio and guest cabin. In both cases he listened to what we wanted in detail, submitted clear plans, and made sure we got what we wanted. I found him to be easy to work with and quite good at both the design and planning stages - he is an architect by training - and in the construction stage; he also works in the field with his tools. His employees are quite skilled and compatible as well. I'd be pleased to hire him again on another project. The projects together were accomplished over a span of three years, with the first being completed before design work began on the second. final completion was in the spring of 2014.

I have been a client of DesignWorks for over 20 years. They have done various renovations on my house, built a master bedroom/bathroom suite wing, and designed and built me a beautiful studio. Their design and construction work is incomparable. The crew are always polite and helpful and they always clean up after themselves. Hire these people-you won't be disappointed.
