We recently hired Susy to re-design our family room and dining room and to create a "wine lounge" for entertaining. She did an amazing job of creating warm, modern spaces that gave our home a much-needed update. Everything from furniture selection to paint to rugs to the decor - she truly delivered beyond our expectations. Having worked with other designers before I also have to say she is warm, genuine, and really fun to work with. We plan to hire her for another project soon. She is the BEST!

I made a radical decision to move to Charleston, SC after 58 years of living in northern CA. I had observed several projects completed by Susie McBride and was struck by the 'realness' and comfort of her design. She traveled with me to my new home and worked with great efficiency and consideration. We absolutely adored working with Susy on a whole house remodel in Sonoma County. We purchased a house that was very outdated with several dysfunctional layout features. On top of that, we were remodeling this house from out of state. Susy really listened to our vision and wish lists. She is very open, honest, and has terrific communication skills which helps enormously in dealing with a challenging house. Susy respected our preferences for such things as color schemes, the need for pet-friendly textiles and finishes, and incorporating some of the furniture we would be bringing with us from our Midwest home. I highly recommend Susy as a design professional. We asked for her help to update the indoor and outdoor furniture at our family property in the wine country of Northern California. Susy easily grasped the complexities of working with multiple family members with a variety of opinions, and navigated this aspect of the project very well for its duration. Overall, working with Susy was a pleasure. She was very organized, very open to my input, incorporated my design preferences, suggested items at the price point I requested, and was very prompt in communication. As the project unfolded, our two houses, along with their outdoor spaces, came to life in ways we could not have imagined. What has been especially fabulous is the way we were able to reclaim existing spaces which had fallen out of use due to inappropriate furniture choices. I have met very few designers that can move from their style choices to your style choices. Her ability to flex and create across an expansive genre of design is what makes her stand out. Susy provided excellent customer service and picture-perfect design for my weekend home in Santa Rosa - a full 5 star performance! My husband and I wanted to get our second home redone rapidly so we could start to enjoy our time in Sonoma County. We hired Susy and working with her was effortless. We purchased a second home in Santa Rosa and pretty much needed to furnish it from scratch -- on a tighter budget than was optimal. Susy listened - we wanted it beautiful but livable and practical for our needs. Susy gave us high quality and found some more cost efficient options to choose from, ensuring the most bang for the buck. She chose things we never would have thought of on our own, and beautifully integrated some key pieces and art we moved down. Susy provides so much value - not just on the design, but on saving us time and not having to worry. We were not on site and she coordinated subs who were prompt, efficient and did great quality work. From the furniture, to the art on the walls, to the many surprise touches Susy added, we walked in to a home that felt like ours, but so much better than we could ever imagined. We were looking to "refresh" our 1960's ranch style semi-custom home. Our tastes tend toward simple quality and not flashy elegance. We found Susy through the internet after viewing websites and seeing her work. Ultimately, we hired Susy and had an outstanding experience. She listened to us carefully and directed our material and furniture selections to obtain the optimum result based on her knowledge and creativity. Additionally, she provided names of vendors and stores to provide services (construction, electrician, floor refinishers, lighting, etc.) that were reliable and experienced. Most importantly, she is a down-to-earth upbeat optimist who offers new ideas and suggestions, but will be flexible to support your final choices and budget limitations. She is also 100% available and reliable at almost anytime and a great communicator as well as listener. During the project she was always "checking in" to keep things on track. We renovated our den, small office, living room, and several bedrooms and Susy took on our project as if it were her own house--she really cares about her clients. We feel fortunate that Susy was our "go to" person with any questions or needs. For example, she converted part of our built-in bookcase to a new TV & media center, replaced carpeting with hardwood floors, "inverted" the layout of our den (which changed the whole feel of the room), added/replaced recessed LED lighting and fans in multiple rooms, suggested a round dining room table to replace our rectangular farm table (freeing up space), and gave the "nod" to area rugs, furniture and table items we purchased locally or online while keeping/re-positioning many of our existing items. We are thrilled with our "new home". Susy's talent, personality and conscientiousness made this a fun project for us and we definitely would give her the highest recommendation.

I had a house I was getting ready to move into that needed a complete remodel, updating and furnishings. Clearly a job for a professional decorator as I have no such skill set. I had the fortune of meeting Susy via the Houzz website and after looking at some of her projects on her website I felt that she had the decorative eye and customer service that I would want. After the first phone call to her introducing my project, she was immediately welcoming. So much about home decorations require a large element of learning an individuals personal taste and I found that Susy was able to learn from our general conversations of taste, colors and styles. From this she was able to develop a very personal touch to make my house into a home.
