About Us

Founded by master builder and designer Taka Nakagawa in 1996, the Sakura Collective is one of the most respected design build firms in the world. Studio is a design/build collaborative dedicated to bridging the gap between design and construction. Led by a diverse team of architects, builders, artists, and craftsmen, the studio focuses on creating an experience for its clients that smoothly transitions from the initial design through to the construction and realization of a project. We believe that by maintaining this level of consistency and continuity within a design/build system, the services we provide our clients save them both time and money.

Taka has one of the freshest eyes in the industry. Taka fuses modern design and nature into his homes. Having been his Real Estate agent for 18 years I have enjoyed marketing his sleek modern designs with a nod to eco-innovation. He is bold and brave using materials and styling that hasnt been seen in our market, which has commanded top dollar and made many happy clients. Along with helping Taka and his clients sell these properties, I also had the pleasure to own one, his craftmanship and style is superior to the rest. If you are looking for a Zen modern approach to your home you shouls talk to Taka.

I am presently living in a Sakura renovated home in the up scale Alamefa area for the past 13 years and I am very impressed with the quality and design work in my home. I get compliments on my house every time someone comes here. Taka has done a fantastic high quality renovation and I can happily report that EVERYTHING works perfectly and I have not had to make any repairs. He is a design genius! I do some Airbnb and you can see the home on their site under great location garden retreat
