Ted and his team at the Wanland building company were excellent to work with. We did a large overhaul of our Kitchen and Family room and his team was professional and helpful throughout the process. As any big project goes, we had some issues and concerns and Ted and his team did their best to satisfy our requests.

Very conscientious, remodeled two beautiful bathrooms, master closet, and laundry room for us. Everything looks fantastic and was beyond our expectations.

We worked with Ted and Wanland Builders in the spring of 2017. We purchased a home in Irving Park and Ted renovated our bathroom, installed hardwood floors and helped us fix up several misc. items throughout the home. Ted was wonderful and we really enjoyed working with him. He helped us with design and really made our place look great. We trust Ted inherently and all of his subcontractors. We are very happy with our home!

We have used Ted for a number of small to major remodeling projects at our previous and current homes over the past several years and have been very satisfied with the quality of the work done. We have had complete kitchen and master bathroom remodels in both houses, replacement of all flooring in new home, window and door replacements, to a number of other small projects. Ted is easy to work with, responsive to questions and follows through to ensure the project is completed to our expectations.

Ted Wanland managed the remodel of our kitchen, powder room and laundry room. He was involved from start to finish and present all the time to make sure the project was going ahead as planned. He kept me in the loop and responded to all our questions and concerns in a timely fashion. He was willing to make changes without a fuss and kept us aware of the costs associated with those decisions. After the project was completed, he stayed in touch to see that we were satisfied. As the remodel settled he came back with crew to repair/clean up the little issues that needed to be addressed. He never passed the buck and always finished a project to our satisfaction. With this remodel the kitchen has become the center of our home instead of retro throwback to the 1970s it used to be. We look forward to work with him on future remodeling projects in our home.

We would never recommend the use of Wanland Builders, Wanland Building Company, Inc. or Wanland Development Co, LLC. Ted was hired to construct our custom home in August of 2014. Expecting a hands on, easy to work with contractor, we were surprised to find the very opposite. The project severely lacked supervision by Ted, and as a result it took significantly longer to build our home than it should have. Almost every aspect of our home was not completed properly on the first attempt. From ducting to siding to painting (to name only a few), work had to be redone again and again resulting in multiple delays and additional costs to us. Over time, Ted became extremely hard to deal with, and it was often an ordeal to get him to fix problems. On more than one occasion we had to monitor the situation to make sure that Ted did not cut corners when attempting to rectify an issue. Attention to detail was almost nonexistent. There was very little done to protect the completed work of various trades which resulted in subsequent damage by other subs. Ted would pass the buck onto someone else, come up with a crazy explanation as to why something occurred, or would refuse to warranty repair work. An example of this would be a 2.5 inch scratch on the center pane of our front door made by one of his subs. It is still there today. By the end of the build, all professionalism by Mr. Wanland was lost. He would not return phone calls. He would storm off property. He would make demands for payment on items he had not yet completed. In December of 2015, after passing what we were told was the final inspection, Ted told us we could move into the home. We finally moved on to Punch List items. Wanland Builders' contract states that they will complete the punch list in 30 days. In August of 2016, while Ted was still working on the Punch List substantially outside of his contractual 30 days, we decided to get copies of the Certificate of Occupancy for our own records. It was then that we learned that Ted had actually only completed three of the required four final inspections, and he never applied for our Occupancy Certificate. Our village was more than understanding and imposed a small fine considering they could have charged Wanland Builders hundreds of dollars per day dating back to the day we moved into the home. Ted attempted to blame everyone else for this "oversight". Wanland Builders never paid the fine and shortly afterwards walked off the job never responding to us again. He does, however, still send his seasonal advertising flyers to us. A further example of his lack of attention to detail. If you are looking for a quality home builder with professionalism, look elsewhere.

We resoundingly recommend Wanland Development! We worked with Ted on a major basement construction and finishing project that involved moving support beams and columns, relocating plumbing lines, adding and modifying air conditioning ducting, and exterior masonry work. We are absolutely satisfied with the final product. They turned our lower level of our home into a warm and comfortable third floor, not simply a basement. The workmanship is outstanding. Additionally, the project was carried out on schedule, and on budget with no billing surprises. The workers were respectful of our living space, and protected the existing structure from damage and dust. We strongly recommend calling Ted Wanland for any remodeling or construction project.

Ted Wanland and the Wanland Building Company did an outstanding job completely remodeling three full bathrooms for us. The project was done on time, and more importantly, on budget. We are bring back Wanland Building Company next year to do more remolding work. Ted is a great communicator and a perfectionist. You will be very happy with his work.

Wanland Building Co is an excellent construction company. I used them to build my house in Lake Forest,, IL and I have been very happy with the way it turned out.. My house was completed in a year and the subs were very knowledgeable. The owner gives competitive prices and has lots of experience building homes. I highly recommend them to all my friends and family.

Just finished project which involved all of the first floor including new kitchen, powder room and new fireplace, plus plus. Could not be happier with Wanland Builders. All workers were very professional and clean. Project came in on budget and on time. This was the second time we have hired Wanland builders and would not even consider another company. Wanland Building Company did two large projects for us, replacement windows and a master bath. They replaced every widow in our house with Pella replacement windows. They did an excellent job, cleaned up every evening before they left and we are very happy with the results. Our master bath is so beautiful that two years later I still feel like I'm using a special resort bath! It is not only good quality but a lovely design. I would highly recommend Wanland Building Company to anyone who is looking for a an experienced builder that they can trust.

I hired Wanland Building Company to remodel my whole townhouse. The project turned out picture perfect. Wonderful craftsmanship. The project was very big and done on time. Wonderful people to work with.
