Wow! Where to start? Well, one thing for sure, this project (major house renovation) would not have been completed without Tom's guiding hand. First, he's an excellent designer (architect, in effect). We completely renovated a 40 year old custom-built home. Tom helped us do A to Z: generating initial concept designs, helping us interview and select a general contractor, making sure we understood local building code requirements, choosing quality kitchen appliances, designing bathrooms and going to the tile stores to help us pick out materials, and helping us adjust to the realities of construction (things sometimes don't go and planned, and having a steadying hand is invaluable, especially when I'm about to go off the deep end - lol). I could go on and on . . . in short, Tom is phenomenal. Two colleagues of mine had used Tom's services and had highly recommended him. Tom has earned my highest praise.

Tom Sylvia was our designer on a complete remodel of an Eichler located in Burlingame, CA. The house was originally built in 1964 and the original owner lived in it for 50 years before she decided to sell it. Tom was by our side from the very beginning, he advised us even before we put an offer on the house and helped us find a general contractor to do the remodel. He reviewed with us very aspect of the architectural plans, in incredible detail, even though we had no previous experience of this ind and probably failed to understand how much attention had been placed on making the house functional and pleasant to live in, while maintaining the "feel" and structure of the original house. Tom managed all our interactions with the general contractor and helped keep the project on track and on budget, he advised us regarding tiles, paint colors, appliances and many other aspects of the project including the landscaping. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him, he was always available, incredibly patient and nothing ever flustered him. He was with us from the beginning to the end of the project, and came to check everything was OK once we finally moved in, after 6 months of construction. We have now been living in the house for 6 months and couldn't be happier; the house is full of light, very peaceful and just pleasant to be in. We highly recommend Tom and would love to have the opportunity to work with him again.
