My Ty Design

This was to be a 3 week project this is now going on 2 months. The St Lucia Pearl was not applied correctly and has caused huge dark areas, light areas and areas of the pool that have no St Lucia Pearl on them at all. The stools are missing plaster and are missing concrete and need plaster re applied correctly and evenly. The table has no table top and needs plaster re applied correctly and evenly. The bench needs mosaic tiles replaced and needs plaster re applied correctly and evenly. The steps needs mosaic tiles replaced and needs plaster re applied correctly and evenly. The sun deck need the mosaic tiles replaced and needs plaster re applied correctly and evenly. The half step in the deep part of pool needs the mosaic tiles replaced and needs plaster re applied correctly and evenly Almost all the mosaic tiles that were just purchased now have been ruined include the 2 three D turtle mosaic that were purchased. The whole inside of pool needs to be re-martice and re plastered with St Lucia Pearl. The pool has now been drained twice incurring higher water bill and the pool drainer has been running non stop for 2 months causing higher electric bill.

We signed a contract with Ty on 5/2/2017 for a pool and wrote a check for $16,492 (30% of contract price) as a deposit. He told us the pool should be finished in mid/late July. It is November 7th, and he has not started the project and has missed numerous deadlines that he has set as far as telling us when he would start. Our new home is now finished, and we have a plywood barrier on our back porch (we are on a stem wall) since the pool was not completed in the promised timeframe, giving us no access to our backyard from our back porch. During this 6 month delay, we've had to reach out to Ty every time to receive an update, only to find we are on a further delay. We tried to simply cancel the contract and move on since he seems too busy to start; however at this point he has refused.

Ty was referred to us by a colleague. We had a difficult situation with replacing our pool lights. Ty and his team did a fabulous job ! We also had them acid wash the pool and it looks amazing . I highly recommend MyTy Design for quality and fair pricing on any pool needs.

I have worked with TY on what has turned out to be a few different projects and have come to the conclusion he DOES know his business. Very knowledgeable in the pool area. Has staff that himself AND his customers can benefit from.

Love our outdoor space! Ty told us it would be like our house was gaining square footage & he's exactly right. Also took the time to help us plan a space that could grow as our budget allows. Have & will continue to recommend him!

I am writing this threes years after the pool was completed trying to give this one man shop the benefit of the found but nothing he has done has held up and the builder has not done anything to rectify. My wife and I designed a unique look to our backyard, pool, fire-pit, grill cabana and hired someone in our neighborhood thinking we were helping a small business owner. At first I chocked up the pool work tomorrowo lack of experience…taking a year when promised three months, not able to install the three actuators we paid for, the rock wall not being uniform with many gaps, etc. However, after the builder heard how loud the pump was after the install, he made all kinds of promises to get it taken care of. I called the pump manufacturer about 6 months after it was installed. Stupid me assumed it only had a three month warranty when they told me it was already out of warranty. However, it came with a three year warranty but it was about three years old when it was installed. This is what prompted me to not keep quiet any longer. This was deliberate and dishonest. You can see from the pictures that the pump is June 10, 2011, the filter installed at the same time is almost 2.5 years newer, October 28, 2013. The equipment was installed around April 2014. He has been over a few times and he has heard the pump but never did anything. Anyone that has been here has heard it. We have had to turn it off just so we could have a conversation outside. I just $1,300 and installed a NEW 3HP VS2 pump and the Actuators. Three years later, almost have the pool we wanted. Just need to re-plaster as you can see from the pictures. When the pool failed inspection because my perimeter fence was not adequate, I had to buy and put in a pool fence for it to pass and then never use it again. He should have known this but regardless, I should not pay more because he can’t pass inspection. Then the electrical panel had to be moved further from the pool. I had to pay to have a wall installed and the electrical panel installed on it. When the cabana had to have pavers installed as a foundation under the building to pass inspection, he charged me “change fees”. I paid more than $5,000 from his original quotes because he could not pass inspection. Again, chocked it up to lack of experience. The building ended up smaller than he had quoted yet he did not come down on the price. Smart business man or cares more about money than the people doing business with him? Primary Issues with My Ty Design pool builder; •Three year old pump installed as new (probably refurbished for all I know) •Plaster not holding up after only two years. He says it has a ten year warranty but asks me “what the total dissolved solids are”. I keep care of the pool and use Clorox online as a long history record. I have not heard back… LOL •Not enough sand to complete paver work. •Never finished the install of the fire-pit •Rock wall not uniform and has many large gaps where the cinderblocks can be seen. •Water sensor not installed correctly after two attempts. Should be after the filter but before the heater. He installed it after the heater the first time and before the filter the final time. •Cost over runs due to him unable to pass inspections. •No communication during delays. Several times we thought he went out of business and was never coming back. •No service or caring after the last check was written. Even when he knew there were issues, he did nothing to resolve. ...and I considered him a friend at this point. I can only imagine how he treats strangers. It would have been cheaper for him to just do the right thing.

My master bathroom was a totally outdated design that was beyond ready for complete transformation of the space. Ty took my initial ideas and made them come alive in a complete master bathroom transformation. I loved the way he listened to my ideas and dreams and used his wonderful combination of technical expertise and artistic talent to work for a unique project outcome that not only looks great but functions perfectly. He took the project from conception to design to build completion. This was a really custom project and I am sure he could handle any project that comes his way. He is a real professional who takes time to understand his customer's desired results and brings them to completion..

Ty and his team have done an outstanding job on multiple projects over 7 years for us, ranging from a bathroom remodel to a large outdoor screened room addition including a 10 foot high privacy waterfall into a Koi pond, with outdoor fireplace, kitchen and bar.
