I am an interior designer and I refer a lot of my clients to Wateredge Construction for their remodel and renovation projects. In late 2013 we hired Joe Fowkes, owner of Wateredge Construction, to build an extensive 2-story addition to our home as well as a large 2-car garage with an art studio over it and extensive hardscaping in our backyard. I can't tell you how many times over the past 3 years his and his staff's knowledge, experience and intelligence came into play to guide both design and construction decisions that we had to make during this huge (for us) project. Early on in our construction project, he spotted an issue with the architect's plan that was critical. He had a structural engineer review the plan and make the vital structural changes necessary before the project could move forward. Never once did he say "We can't do that" (except for one zoning issue with the local code authorities). Both his office staff and his construction crew - as well as sub-contractors he uses -- embody utmost skill, knowledge and professionalism. Joe's business has a lot of repeat high-end customers, including ourselves now. Wateredge has been in business here in the Richmond area for 25+ years and Joe is the former chairman/president of NARI here in Richmond. He is well respected within the construction community here and operates at all times with the utmost integrity. I can't say enough good things about our experience of Joe Fowkes and Wateredge Construction.
