Nicolaas Wilkens, owner of architectural firm; Wilkens Design Studio is a phenomenal creative collaborator. Nicolaas truly listens to the customer's’ wish list, needs and wants and creates a full-set of architectural plans that are a dream for any custom builder. His knowledge about, LEED AP BD +C, sustainability, practical implementation of energy efficient materials paired with great aesthetics and taking the surrounding landscape into consideration, makes for a unique portfolio of projects. This is also what attracted us to working with Wilkens Design Studio. As with any custom build, the customer (in this case my wife and I), both with a background in Design and Materials and with changing creative minds, kept throwing new ideas at Nicolaas, which he was able to quickly sketch and then develop further, showcasing his professionalism and experience in which he works with his clients. The result was nothing less than the exact realization of our dream home. The project received interest from publications, ecomm magazines and other builders, a true statement to Nicolaas’ vision. His supervision and follow-through with the building contractors and industry professionals is superb.
