About Us

Winter McDermott Design is a Hamptons NY interior design firm specializing in high-end residential spaces. Founded by Maureen McDermott, the firm seeks to bring a fresh and unique modern design to the Hamptons. Maureen, a graduate of The New York School of Interior Design, has worked for well-known design and architectural firms in both NYC and the Hamptons. Her aesthetic was shaped while working under the design icon and mentor Vicente Wolf. While working with Vicente, Maureen designed various high-end interiors and managed large-scale construction projects. This includes 15 Union Square West, the dramatic 12-story condominium in a historic Tiffany & Co. building. Maureen strongly believes that design should tell a cohesive story for the space. Interior design should not be limited to decoration but rather something that's tightly in harmony with architecture.

We hired Winter McDermott Design to help with a renovation of a house in Sag Harbor, NY and couldn't have been happier. While we thought we had the new layout figured out, Maureen came up with several key design and structural ideas which influenced the entire flow of the house for the better. The house went from a cute beach cottage to a smartly designed and special home. And she was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend Maureen and Winter McDermott Design
