Wood Anchor is a custom fabrication design-build studio specializing in handcrafted wood furniture, wood furnishings & wood art for residential, commercial & architectural design applications. We believe there is legitimate shift in today’s thinking when it comes to building. Many of you are now finding ways to do your part by THINKING before ACTING. CUSTOM FABRICATION & DESIGN-BUILD - Wood Anchor offers full custom fabrication/manufacturing and design-build all types of architectural & interior design mill work for residential and commercial applications! CUSTOM SAWMILL SERVICES - We offer custom milling and shop services ranging from planing to sanding finishes. We can saw logs and timbers for your next project! Wood Anchor utilizes reclaimed and locally harvested lumber in each of its unique builds and products. With sources that include old timbers from historical buildings, trees cut down by the City of Winnipeg due to Dutch Elm Disease (DED), and other species of trees cut down due to development or farmland. Currently Wood Anchor is the only reclaimed wood company in North America specializing in Landfill Diverted Elm. What is it that defines Wood Anchor and separates us from the rest? Do we work harder? Wood anchor manufactured custom tables for era bistro at the Canadian museum for human rights. The work was of an extremely high quality. Customers remark on the tables on a daily basis. Working with Ray, J and the Wood Anchor team was such a good experience for us! They built us a gorgeous custom dining table and bench from reclaimed Manitoba oak. The pieces are beautiful features in our new home, they are unique, feel like pieces of art and will last the test of time. We hope to work together with them in the future.

I recently constructed a new summer cottage, which involved the removal of a large white pine from the building site. The contractor milled the lumber, which was then sent to Wood Anchor's kiln to be dried. The 3" thick pine boards were then finished and polished by Wood Anchor. The end result is a very beautiful live edge dining table with steel legs in an industrial gun blu finish. The table is now back on the site where it once grew for many decades!

We could not be more thrilled with all of the incredible work that Wood Anchor has done in our home and for my business. They were able to create pieces that are impeccably designed and extremely functional, all within the scope of our vision. We had Wood Anchor design and install railings, with integrated ladders for a loft space & bunk beds, and they were able to come up with a design that completely fit the style of our home, while making them extremely practical. The same went for a custom buildout they did for an odd nook in our wall. They took an awkward space and turned it into a work of art that now houses and hides all of our audio-visual components. They took into consideration little details (such as venting for our electronics and proper storage for our vinyl collection) that we never would have thought of. They were able to come up with a design that far exceeded our expectations. The entire staff at Wood Anchor was such a pleasure to work with and we missed having them around after the install (which was extremely smooth and precisely on schedule)! I give my highest recommendation to Wood Anchor.

J, Ray and the Wood Anchor team built us an incredible 14 feet table from reclaimed Elm wood with a custom made steel base. The table is a center piece of our new home, a piece of art and a conversation piece. When we have dinner at the table, the soul of the wood adds warmth and comfort to the atmosphere. It's been great working with the Wood Anchor team. They have been incredibly helpful and reliable. Thanks for this beautiful and unique piece. We worked with Ray from Wood Anchor and he was absolutely amazing in facilitating the design process for our custom made boardroom table. The end result far exceeded any of our expectations! The wood they used (reclaimed elm) was absolutely brilliant. The grain itself is a true piece of art. All other tables we have seen while shopping for this boardroom table literally pale in comparison. Its such a showstopper that everyone that enters the room comments on it. I actually cant wait to work with this group of gifted artists again. Highly, highly recommended. Smooth process throughout and super fast/easy communication.

I was looking for some material to complete a custom staircase on a renovation I was doing. I heard about Wood Anchor through another source. I liked thier concept and contacted them source materials. Jay and crew were extremely helpful and took a genuine interest in my project. I would definitely take advantage of their services again. The project would not have been as succesful as it was without thier input. The project was a feature in the reno and it did not disappoint.

We found out about Wood Anchor's work diverting good wood from landfills from an article we read. Wanting to help my son-in-law construct a custom dining room table as a gift for my daughter, I recommended that he look into purchasing his wood from Wood Anchor. They custom cut reclaimed fir into exactly the dimensions he wanted and the table turned out to be incredible. It had the patina that comes only from aged wood and the fact that it is beautiful and "Green" makes it all the more magnificent. Great company to work with and very, very helpful. Wood Anchor did an excellent job from initial consultation to design, and through to delivery. Staff listened carefully to what I was looking for, showed skill and creativity in designing it, and great skill and pride in building it. The finished work is beautiful and solid and does honour to the mighty elm it came from.
