“It was great working with Richard - he has unbounded enthusiasm for creating environmentally healthy homes which use as little on-grid energy as possible. His creative ideas regarding passive solar heating meshed right in with my less-educated desires. The end result is an Energy Star certified home with passive solar heating and active solar water heating .... and it looks good too!!!!”

“After buying the magazine we selected a home called the Holly Grove that fits perfectly on our narrow 50 ft lot on Lake Huron. Since the main purpose of living on the lake is the view, the "shotgun" style home lets us see from front to back without blocking our view. We chose a builder from the Nothern region and using Houzz I have been able to come up with many ways to make use of my new smaller home. After seeing the kit to add to doors to make them slide by Anderson, we decided to add that to.our glass doors dividing the living and dining room. We have so many more ideas from the Houzz app and thanks to the architect from Southern Living we will have the home we want.”

“Arcon Architects & Builders designed and built our wonderful house on Lake Keowee in Seneca South Carolina. Their professional expertise coupled with years of practical experience ensured the house not only met our family's needs but was built on time and within budget. By carefully assessing the building site Arcon ensured the house afforded great lake views from every room while minimizing the need to remove mature hardwood trees that I so love. They coupled the site plan with wonderful architectural features like 3 foot overhangs to minimize afternoon sun and allow the windows to stay open even during the rain ! In addition the cantilevered deck affords a sense of "floating over the lake" while maximizing the views from the lower level rooms. Oh .. and did I mention the screen porch and stone fireplace, the barrel vaulted front entry, the beams and massive stone fireplace in the great room .. and and and ! They just did a great job for us !”

“The best part of building a house was working with Tiffany of Prudhomme Design and Interiors. She made the process so enjoyable and her knowledge of space and color is incomparable. The benefit of using Prudhomme Design and Interiors is that not only do you get the best architectural design but I love that Tiffany was also our decorator. “I have hired Ben Settle at Arcisan, Inc long before he started this company. Haven't looked for another since. I have used him on so many projects that I have lost count. He is a rare find in the residential design and build world. He is extremely detail-oriented, creative, thinks outside the box and he actually understands construction and how buildings go together. Such a rare find in the design world. Just because you can dream it...doesn't mean you can build it. So having someone that understands construction makes him a great find.
