About Us

Kurt Lehmann founded Design Group Queenstown in 1990 and later changed the name to ADQ Ltd in 2004. Kent Roper became partners with Kurt in ADQ in 2017 and is now at the helm of ADQ. We are a practice that focuses on delivering exceptional design with a considered and personal service. Our work aims to make a lasting contribution to the urban and natural context. We strive to continuously keep up with new innovative construction methods and design solutions. Whether you are after a new build or an alteration we ensure much attention is paid to the choice of materials and construction method to achieve a future proof, warm and healthy home for many years to come. We have successfully completed homes with alternative construction methods including: straw-bale, mud-brick and rammed earth.

Kurt and ADQ were great to work with on our build. The team at ADQ listened to our initial vision for our “dream home” and interpreted that vision effectively and creatively . They were always ready to liaise with us and we felt supported throughout our design and build journey. Communication with us was open, friendly and collaborative. They offered plenty of innovative solutions and were always Considerate of our budget and objectives. We are so happy with the results.

ADQ were engaged to design our new inner city home , the project was a major challenge as the 286m2 site was only 7.5m wide. the end result was an amazing 3 Bedroom 3 Bathroom home complete with guest area and with north facing swimming pool and sauna and spa pavilion . ADQ we brilliant , a very talented team that worked tirelessly to overcome many challenges to an end result exactly what we wanted

We have just completed our second home over a ten year period designed by ADQ architecture with Principal Kurt Lehman. We were very pleased with the first experience and are delighted with the end result on this second occasion. Kurt has an ability to really understand a brief and budget. We loved his creative ideas and sense of size, space and proportion. He has up to date knowledge of the latest building materials and related technologies. And most importantly, he has a very pleasant interpersonal style with a refreshing ability to convey his ideas without imposing his own views.

Commented: love the block walls.The concrete block walls you can see in this photo, are entirely on the interior. Masonry veneer was on the outer walls and lined up to ensure they appear as singular blocks.
