“We recently renovated which included a small extension to the open plan kitchen/living/dining room to accommodate a bigger kitchen and make sense of the living space. Treena helped us with the planning process both for the kitchen space and design and also the living/dining space decor. It looks amazing! There were so many things to consider with this project and more decisions to be made than I could have imagined. Treena had a huge range of samples available to get a sense of what we liked and once the style had been decided she narrowed down our choices considerably and kept us on track. She helped us choose kitchen and paint colours, wall tiles, tapware, lighting, curtains, blinds, wood flooring and rugs, and even cushions which gave our existing furniture a new life. She also designed and had made for us a very large entertainment unit that gives us lovely display shelving, a place for the TV, great storage and also houses a charging station for all of our electronic devices...magic! Treena sourced all of the products and arranged installation, and we were pleasantly surprised at the prices, which were much less than we expected. Even though I've renovated before I'm so glad that I used Swift Designs for this project as the choices and number of decisions that had to be made would have been overwhelming without Treena's expertise....and I would never have had enough time to do it all! I love my new space and highly recommend using Treena for any home design project.”

“Having built on previous occasions we knew how important it is to be specific with regards to costings because things can snowball if they’re not managed closely. We already had a concept and floor plan in mind and Fraemohs were very fast and accurate on costings right from the very first rough estimate, which unlike any other company we had approached came back within a few days as a figure to the nearest dollar. This gave us the confidence about budget we needed. On completion they were right on the money so there were no surprises. As we were building on lifestyle bare land we also liked their experience building outside of the usual urban area. We had approached a couple of building companies who simply weren't interested in us, it was pleasing that with Fraemohs nothing we wanted to do appeared to be a problem, they were interested, engaged and flexible right from the start. We also had a very specific brief and wanted to do quite a few things ourselves – like the decking and access points. “I dealt with Emma Morris from Eterno Design for my new house. she did all the interior and also work together with the architect and landscape designer to make sure that everything flow nicely. she also did some of my furnitures and helped chose my curtains. she is great to work with. Very easy to contact, so i dont have to chase her around which is quite a nightmare when you have a lot of tradies. she handled all the tradies for me and therefore i didnt have much problem. she arranged everything from quotes from different suppliers and joiners to the finishing. she was even monitoring the installation to make sure they are up to her standard and it is perfect. her tradies are good and easy to deal with - even after they finished their job and the house settled, so a few adjustments were necessary. she understood what i need and want. she only needed to revise slightly of her design for my kitchen. this really save time and money for me, revising things will definitely costs me more. so i was really happy when i could keep the costs down. the kitchen is very low maintainance, practical and timeless. i got a lot of compliments from friends and family. what i like about emma is that she let me know the pros and cons of everything from types of materials, finishing, lighting and even paints. this is the first time i am building a house, so her experience and knowledge definitely helps. there are no hidden costs as well with emma. she takes a bit of commission and she gets discounts from her suppliers too so the price were reasonable. i definitely recommend her. i will definitely would get her to help me in my future project. since i know she is very responsible and take pride in her work.”

“We have worked with Alex in a do up and then a re build after the earthquake, and found her brilliant. We didn't have an open ended budget and Alex worked with that making sure money was spent with the biggest impact. Alex is a fantastic communicator and had admirable patience working with myself and my husband to get the compromise we are both really happy with. “I have never seen anyone get more excited about a new building than the people of Redcliffs. I could barely get any work done! The story starts, as so many others in Christchurch, with earthquakes and demolition. The team at Young Architects has close ties to the neighbourhood, and was involved in the rebuild of the community library from the very beginning. They took up the challenge of designing an inviting public meeting space that reflects its community. From the red colour of the building to the gable construction reminiscent of the spines on a bookshelf, the library is a space Redcliffs is very proud of, as I soon learned. Since I happen to live down the road, I did more than my usual share of bullying the client into involving me. I knew the semi-translucent gable would be perfect for blue hour photography once finished. I got really excited picturing the final images in my mind's eye. When Greg Young and I finally toured the library, the degree of pride in the community was almost overwhelming. People stopped us repeatedly in the streets to tell their library stories, express how proud they are, and what a good guy Greg is. There were even a few hugs. While I was shooting the building a little while later, people repeatedly told me how happy they were with their new library. It was touching to see how connected everyone felt with this space.
