We engaged Nick Smith from Smith Construction to build our new Langs Beach weekend home. Building kicked off in Jan 2016, completed Nov 2016. Nick and his team Lars and Regan were a pleasure to deal with, and in general the end to end process was amazingly stress free. They were great communicators, came to the table with solutions rather than problems, and the finished product was of a very high build quality. The build was a reasonably high spec bespoke design on a tight budget, for a client who was prone to tweaking the design every few weeks, but Nick & Lars kept things on track. Nick's team did a great job building our home to the high spec that was called for and the quality of the build could not have been better. Nick has a good understanding of the industry and what clients are looking for in a build project and is prepared to do the extra bit to satisfy clients needs and to keep the project going when required. His staff are well qualified helpful and capable of doing great work. Access to management is easy and responses are swift when contacted. This build has been the most stress free 18th months we have experienced with building from new and the many renovations over the years.Smith Construction really have bought into this build taken on and executed the ideas that we had. The level of craftsmanship cannot be rivalled. The builders are polite, respectful, tidy, and have really gone out of their way to make this a pleasurable experience.

We built our home with Smith Construction in 2016 and are very satisfied with the outcome. Nick was hands on throughout the entire process, providing his expertise from the concept and design phase through to the finishing lines. We were able to rely on Nick to deliver a high quality build within the required timeframe.

Nick Smith of Smith Construction was contracted to build our new house at Mangawhai Heads in 2013. Nick was a pleasure to deal with. His can do attitude, good communication skills and building knowledge contributed significantly to the successful outcome of our house build. His professionalism and understanding of our needs in terms of both cost and delivery was very evident from our first meeting through to completion of the project. Nick is a stickler for detail and quality and he demands this from his employees and subcontractors. Whether it is a building detail, a different methodology or something that should be reconsidered he will always bring this to your attention This has gained Nick a well-earned reputation in Mangawhai. We were living in Auckland for much of the build and found his communication and project management skills kept us fully involved throughout Should we consider another building project we would use Smith Construction again and we cannot recommend Nick and his team more highly. Building with Smith Contruction is an absolute pleasure. Our build came in on time, on budget and higher spec than our plans (due to high wind zone). The house is now 3 years old and still looks and feels brand new. For high spec, quality and bespoke designs that really require that extra attention to detail, you can't go past Smith Construction for delivering a brilliant end product.
