“We had the pleasure of working with Gemma to update our family room and kitchen. The results are outstanding! Gemma's incredible eye for design and extremely professional working style made the project a pleasure from start to finish. Gemma has an excellent eye for detail and architecture. She took my many inspiration photos and created new spaces that feel as though they've always been in our home. She thought of every last detail, so the spaces feel truly finished. Gemma is a great communicator and there were no surprises. She was clear about what our budget would permit, and was creative about making it work. She has excellent taste and has clear opinions, which helped me make good decisions. Gemma has outstanding resources in Chicago and long working relationships with those vendors -- it was clear how much they trust and respect her taste. From furniture to artwork to window treatments to accessories, she can make anything happen. We are thrilled with the outcome and would absolutely work with her again. “I hired Laurel to help me completely tear down and design two new bathrooms in our home. Her eye for design and her creativity surpassed all of my expectations. She can combine practical/functional needs with style and help you to narrow down exactly what you like. I've seen her portfolio of projects and am impressed that she creates such different ideas for people with similar taste as well as being able to adapt and design for people with contemporary, modern, traditional or other tastes. Her guidance in sourcing materials and contractors made the projects run smoothly and took away a lot of my headaches. While working on these projects, she also helped me replace carpet with hardwood floors, find a better sliding door option for our living room and update some lighting in our home. Once we are ready to redesign our kitchen she is the first person I will call.”

She incorporated existing pieces and created a plan that not only enhances our design style, but fits our lifestyle. She even went on to give us suggestions for rearranging furniture in other rooms of our home, as well as, ways to accessorize and utilize wall art to complete the look. Andrea is a very talented designer and I would welcome her expertise in more areas of our home.”

“When we decided to build our “up north” retirement home, we approached Brad Butcher and Sidock Architects because we had seen some of Brad’s work in a magazine and liked his designs. It didn’t take us long to realize that we had make the right choice. Brad is not only a talented architect, but he is very creative and a good listener. He took all of our “likes”, “dislikes”, notes, and clippings and turned them into the perfect home for us. It not only fits our lifestyle and allows us to “age in place”, but it is the quintessential northern Michigan home and fits perfectly into our riverside location. Everyone who sees our house compliments us on it. Brad and his staff were also a pleasure to work with. They were knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and client-focused. Even though one of us is extremely detail-oriented and obsessed over every detail, they never lost their patience and made every effort to address our questions and concerns. We gave ourselves two years for the design phase and used that time effectively. At the end of that process, Brad not only delivered a high quality design to us, but helped us find the right builder to implement it. He and his team also provided support throughout the build process, which allowed us to live 250 miles away and not have to worry about how things were going. We could not have been happier with our design and build team, which made the entire project a great experience. We would gladly work with Brad Butcher and Sidock Architects again, if we had another project, and highly recommend them to anyone who is trying to find someone in northern Michigan to design their “dream” home. “Paula is an awesome interior designer. I first started working with Paula in 2006 and continue to use her expertise on a regular basis. No question is too small or project too big. Always gives 120% to any project. Her design input has helped me renovate and double the size of a small family cottage into a stunning lakehouse! She has also helped on many commercial apartment renovations from individual units to entire apartment buildings. Her taste and decision making is spot on and I could never have accomplished all my business and personal projects without her help. Thanks Paula!”

“Dianel is an extremely talented interior designer and architect. We engaged her to assist with the interior design elements in our new home and she has done a tremendous job. She was instrumental in delivering on a design that meets the architectural elements in our home along with unique and interesting pieces that add to our euro design. A few examples include the attention to detail she was able to provide on the paint colors for every room in our house. The cabintery Diane designed for our bathrooms is so elegant yet extremely functional for the needs of a busy house. Lastly, Diane's ability to hone in on accent pieces in our study, and beautiful furniture in our family room make our home a warm and inviting place for family and friends. Diane is an asset to any project she has creative, thoughtful ideas that add functionality with a flair to your home.”
