“I worked with Arcline Architecture as their interior designer for 12 large luxury holiday accommodation houses based in Karikari Peninsula for Carrington Estate. Having just recently graduated from Unitec, and with only a few interior design projects undertaken by me, the opportunity to work with Arcline on such a large project was daunting but exciting. Working with Alan Simpkin, owner and architect at Arcline, provided me with valuable hands-on experience and knowledge in so many aspects of interior design and project management, that is difficult to achieve on smaller projects. Alan was generous in sharing with me his in-depth knowledge of the building and design industry which was invaluable during the design process. “Four Walls Architecture designed a large contemporary home for us on a site situated in Westmere, Auckland. They carried out the conceptual design work, assisted with the resource consent application and completed the detailed design and building consent application. Our brief was quite specific in regards to the general look we were trying to achieve, the size and layout of the home, the use of low maintenance materials and a high degree of energy efficiency. The design process was a very pleasant experience and Four Walls was always open to discussing any ideas or opinions we had and incorporating them into the design accordingly.
