“I worked with Arcline Architecture as their interior designer for 12 large luxury holiday accommodation houses based in Karikari Peninsula for Carrington Estate. Having just recently graduated from Unitec, and with only a few interior design projects undertaken by me, the opportunity to work with Arcline on such a large project was daunting but exciting. Working with Alan Simpkin, owner and architect at Arcline, provided me with valuable hands-on experience and knowledge in so many aspects of interior design and project management, that is difficult to achieve on smaller projects. Alan was generous in sharing with me his in-depth knowledge of the building and design industry which was invaluable during the design process. He set up processes and systems that allowed for ease of communication between stakeholders, thus ensuring a robust communication flow that saw this large scale development project run as smoothly as possible and ensuring budgets and timeframes were met.
