Dwelling Designs is a residential interior design firm as well as a contemporary furniture boutique studio. Dwelling Designs was founded in 2003 with the following concepts: 1. To offer designs that embody the minimalist philosophy inspired from the classics, as evidenced by the clean lines and sleek appearance of its collection. 2. To offer our clients a solution for achieving beautiful interiors which reflect their lifestyle and functional requirements. 3. We strive to provide clients with a pleasant and memorable design experience. Our team will work with you in a responsible and organized fashion, demonstrating exceptional customer service while implementing award-winning interior design with some of the most unique product available. We are proud to have our designs and products featured in numerous showcase homes, television commercials, ad campagins, and national music videos. Ammar and Dwelling Designs were fantastic to work with. Ammar has helped me slowly update my home over a number of years. He has introduced me to cutting edge pieces while integrating mid century modern classics to achieve an eclectic and uniquely personal style for my space. I highly recommend his expertise and design savvy to anyone looking to make both small or large changes to their dwelling. Furthermore, his personal approach makes the entire process enjoyable and exciting.

We hired Dwelling Designs to remodel our master bathroom after using them for a Living Room/Kitchen remodel. They gave us our dream bathroom keeping within our budget while also attain a chic/modern look that we desired. Furthermore they were very attentive to our needs and always quickly available by phone/email as needed. We initially went with Dwelling Designs because they were recommended as "the best." We have used them for two major projects and it's true, they are the best. Ammar's vision has helped to transform our condo into our dream home. We have recommended them to our friends in the area, and will continue to do so.

I moved here from Colorado and purchased a condo in the North Loop. I didn't have anything to put in it so I hired Dwelling Designs to outfit it and do some upgrades. It was very convenient and hassle-free since I didn't know anyone here to do the work. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and enjoyed the experience of making my condo an awesome place.

Ammar Alshah (Dwelling Designs) is one of the rare designers that believes it is about the client, it is not about him. This was quite clear since our first meeting, when he showed my wife options for her to say “like” or “dislike”. He was trying to understand her taste. With equal care, he took into account our budget limitations. He is perfectly open to come up with an IKEA solution or to explain the merit of an Italian import. He has state of the art design software and went totally out of his way to help us understand how the selected solutions would look in real life. The amount and diversity of design solutions in his data bank pales when compared with what he has in his head or in his office. He is always up to date on design trends in the world.

Ammar and his team can always be counted on to provide timely, no-attitud, and excellent service. I especially love that they are willing to source products from all over; I never feel pressure to use "their" people or products. A landscape designer referred me to Ammar at Dwelling Designs. His store selections are oriented to the contemporary. With creativity, class and flexibility he provides furniture, floor coverings, accessories. I love the sleek sectional and some headboards which were ordered through Dwelling Designs.

I hired Ammar and his team immediately upon closing on my new loft. The space in my loft was amazing but it needed a major facelift . Ammar and his team came over to survey the space and were very open to listening to any input I had. We discussed a new color palette, wallpaper, texture on walls, light fixtures and furniture options that would work in somewhat difficult space. Not knowing exactly what I wanted to spend on this project was no doubt a difficult place for Ammar and his team to be in but after showing me his intiial design concept and pricing, we worked together to come up with a suitable execution plan and budget. And what was most important to me, was knowing that I could be completely honest and if I needed something to come down slightly in price, Ammar was more than happy and willing to research other items to fit in my budget. It has been a truly remarkable experience and the end result is far more than I could have ever hoped. I highly recommend Dwelling Designs and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Dwelling Designs helped design our new office space. They helped pick out pain color, carpet, office furniture, lightning, furniture, and placement of items. They were extremely flexible with their time, always willing to come meet us. They were prompt on all of our requests for pricing, images, and deliver schedules. They always showed us multiple pieces and gave us their best recommendation. They also have given us really great deals on pieces of furniture and art when we have walked into their showroom.

I have photographed several of Ammar, Bethany, and the rest of Dwelling Design's projects around the greater Minneapolis area. Whether a residential home or a higher density living space - their designs are beautiful, livable, and innovative. Their work is amazing and I get tons of compliments on their work whenever people view my photos of their work. Having seen (and photographed) many of their projects - I would gladly hire them for a personal project.

Dwelling Designs and Ammar were a joy to work with. Found Dwelling Designs through an internet search and liked their website's portfolio. Ammar (and all the DD team) were easy and pleasant to interact with. Ammar has an amazing design sense and came up with beautiful and inspiring options for our challenging living room space which has many angles , windows, and 3 cats to contend with. Ammar listened to how we live in the space and the feel we were looking for and helped us create it. He was very patient and caring throughout the entire process and really seemed to care that we got the best space for us. We took a long time to choose a couch for the space and Ammar was very patient and provided different options until the perfect sectional for us materialized. We had actually purchased another sectional from Ammar and just before it was delivered he received another sectional he thought we would like better. We did, and he made it easy for us to switch. It was a fun, pleasant, inspiring process to work with Ammar and the Dwelling Designs team and we look forward to continuing to work with them on our future design needs.

Commented: Who is the designer of the black antler chandelier?This was originally a Restoration Hardware chandelier. It comes in a natural finish. I taped and sprayed it with a flat black paint before protecting it in a clear coat.
