About Us

Decorating nurseries for Nicole’s three children led to decorating nurseries and children's rooms for friends, then to their parents bedrooms and living spaces. Recognizing an opportunity to help clients create beautiful, serene, inspirational and well-planned spaces that were also affordable, the idea for Dezaar Interiors was born. Nicole Botsman is the founder, lead designer and creative force for Dezaar Interiors. An ex-attorney with an MBA and a Masters of Finance, Nicole's first career was in business. Working with some of the world's largest companies in wine, electronics and retail, Nicole soon recognized that while she was developing great business smarts, her corporate career didn't make her happy or fire her passion for more creative pursuits. After leaving a buyer role at Target in Minneapolis to have her second child, Nicole found her true passion in interior decorating. Before launching the business, Nicole gained experience on both the show room side and also the design side with Mary Hickey Interiors and Scherping Westphal to learn more about the business and the day to day skills needed to run a design firm. This second career has tapped Nicole's business background while unleashing her passion and talent for interior decorating. When she is not dreaming about the perfect wallpaper and fabric combinations, Nicole can be found spending time with her husband and 3 adorable children, drinking strong double shot lattes and on a good day finding time to squeeze in some exercise.

Nicole did a fantastic job designing my family room and entry way. She listened carefully to what was important to me and bright forward a vision that was exactly what I was looking for. From there, she sourced all of the materials with a focus on quality while respecting my budget requirements. Working with Nicole was a treat and I will hire her every time I need design expertise!

We hired Nicole to help us design our master bedroom and we are thrilled with the results! Nicole was a joy to work with. We'd never worked with a designer before and our experience was so positive it left us wanting more. Nicole was gracious and skilled at incorporating our ideas at every step of the way, and yet she also brought ample knowledge, expertise, and ideas that we'd never have had on our own. We wanted to handle the execution of the design so Nicole connected us with high-quality people, and was also very supportive when we took some time to come to a decision or changed our minds. I would work with Nicole again in a heartbeat!

Nicole Bostman offers excellent client service and creates a beautiful vision and ultimately a fabulous finished product. She helped us with our very under utilized den space. We originally asked her to help us create a fun space for the kids and adults. After reviewing the room and getting to know us, she encouraged my husband and me to consider making this more of an adult space for lounging, reading or entertaining. We took her advice. She listened to how we live and pushed in the right ways for us become more comfortable out of our typical comfort zone. I love all the items selected for our den as they are perfect blend of items with higher, medium and low price points. She selected items from Room and Board, One King's Lane, CB2, West Elm, Ikea and even Target. Thank you, Nicole! Now we just need help with the rest of our house!

Nicole and I worked together to refresh our living room. Our goal was to reupholster two chairs, design new pillows, get a coffee table and new rug. Nicole approached the job with a ton of energy and enthusiasm. We went through two rounds of "creative' and with a couple of adjustments she nailed it at the second presentation. She handled our feedback very professionally and we ended up with a living room that makes me smile every day. Nicole ultimately reupholstered our two chairs (in fabulous fabrics), designed five gorgeous pillows, found us an amazing rug at an unbelievable price and a lovely coffee table. I can't wait to jump into the next project. Thank you Nicole!

Hired Dezaar Interiors to design my daughter's bedroom. After a brief discussion of what we had in mind, Nicole promptly provided us with an elegant mood board that blew us away-her ideas were beautiful as well as exceptionally unique! She not only utilized the space incredibly well, but kept in mind the needs of our daughter by providing us with a style/decor that she could grow into. Nicole's artistry, experience and vision helped us remain within our budget. When the dresser we wanted exceeded our budget, Nicole suggested creating our own. She found a beautiful antique Henry Wink dresser at a thrift store. Together, we sanded, primed and painted the dresser. It turned out gorgeous and was a fraction of the cost of the original dresser. She has an eye for beautiful wallpaper and funiture selection/placement. She is incredibly professional and was always available via email, phone or text. I plan on hiring Dezaar Interiors again for my living room and dining room.

Nicole with Dezaar Interiors turned our office into a bedroom for our 2 year old boy. She did a phenomenal job, from the design, attention to detail, to the fast and wonderful service. She made the whole project easy, fun, and exciting. After a couple meetings she developed a plan, ordered everything, and while we were away for Thanksgiving she put the room together. The room was truly incredible and our two year old Henry loved it at first sight. The room has a chalkboard wall, black and white striped ceiling, and a teepee. She provides excellent service for busy working professionals who might struggle finding time, energy, or decorating skills. Nicole has a true talent for interior design and decorating and I can't wait for the next project. I highly recommend her for any of interior decorating needs. The room was photographed for the Midwest Home Magazine February issue, so you can check out pictures!
