The house that Nick built for my mum is elegant, beautiful and practical. His attention to detail shows on every surface, every corner and every function. He also worked with me when issues with dealing with trees on our property came up unexpectedly. He came up with a solution that fitted everyone involved. “In 2009 I purchased a 2 bedroom 30 year old Brick and Tile house north facing on the shores of the Panmure Lagoon. Unbeknownst to me at the time it had won house of the year when constructed all those years before! After living, (and as you do planning), in it a few years, I engaged Alpha 1 Builders carry out the extensive renovations which incorporated ; opening the house out, create two new levels and completely upgrade the house and fittings. All that was left after one week were the external walls. Wrapped in plastic the work began in earnest. Paul's attention to detail and planning meant the build was completed on time and on budget. Of course things changed during the build as they do, but this was made easy by the professional and trademan like care taken by all his staff. Alterations by myself to the original specifications were costed and approved before work was carried out so I never felt concern that the project was running away on me. When Paul suggested that he enter it in house of the year I was enthusiastic and then overjoyed to receive a gold medal. The finished product is a 4 Bedroom easy flowing house with three bathrooms, an enormous rumpus/theater room and open plan Kitchen/Dining and lounge area, opening onto a sweeping sun-drenched deck that displays unobstructed views of the water. Now after three years of living in our house we still enjoy it everyday and find it works well and flows naturally. It's not unusual to sit on one of the superb north facing decks sipping a Flat White gazing out over the waters and pondering the choice of going to work or,,, having another!”

I needed a new facade concreted and built at the entrance to my house and organised Hamids team to do the job . I was amazed at how fast and professionally the job was done , especially with the detailed and technical stainless finish that was specified . “Jeremy came highly recommended and he and his team did not disappoint. Right from the start we knew this was the right company to use to build our modern 2 story home. The building site was small with limited access but Jeremy was very organised and had all his ‘ducks in a row’, imperative for everything to run smoothly. He was open to using new and different materials, made appropriate suggestions and provided a very comprehensive breakdown of costs. Throughout the build we were involved and consulted, any issues which arose were dealt with and it was clear Jeremey knew the building regulations and was able to provide solutions to any problems.. His team were punctual, competent, respectful, tidy, friendly and easy to communicate with. Jeremey took away all the stress of building with his professional, considerate approach. Obviously with new builds there are the occasional things that need attention after the build has been completed and these were dealt with in a timely manner without any issues. “We employed Manly Construction after friends recommended them. We wanted to undertake an extensive renovation and doubling in size of our house. We obtained one other quote, but the estimated pricing was too open. Gareth (Manly Construction) was honest about our budget and the possible areas of over runs in a reno of this size. We continued to live downstairs whilst the house was extended over 2 more floors, 2 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, new kitchen and flooring, and a complete new roof. The team from Manly were always respectable and flexible with a family of four (and an attention demanding dog) living on site, and we always felt totally comfortable around all of the team, which we had not experienced with our 2 other builds with different builders. The weather wasn't always kind, but they worked through and took care of the parts of the house not being renovated. We were a particularly fussy client, especially living on site and inspecting work daily. We finished pretty much on schedule and overspent by the amount we were warned we could at the beginning, We changed the plans and detail more than once and this was never an issue. All council inspections were passed first time including the final. We ended up selling and moving after about 12 months and received lots of praise for the finish and quality. We would highly recommend Gareth and his team from Manly construction, and if he'd have us, we would use him again!”

“Fortified homes are an amazing home company. I am thrilled to bits with my new home that was designed for me at no extra cost. I was told it would be a long hard road building but instead Mike & Courtenay made it so easy from start to finish. Mike made it easy to make the budget work and because of this over runs were non existent unlike many other companies. Quality was exceptional for their standard products and the time to build was only 15 weeks from start to finish. I couldn't rate them highly enough!! If you want a great home at a great price with a good honest building company then this is the one you should choose.”
