I love those linear drains. The first photograph shows black accessories which are also a better alternative to the white ones which always suggest "disabled". I think that it should be obligatory that entrance to all showers should be without a lip of any kind. I have one. I trip over it regularly! I hate it. I like the idea of some sort of bench seating. I also think that the shape of a shower matters. Maybe an overhead one, but definitely a hand held one and not in the shape of a round mop head, but of a long thin head where the water comes out the sides. Those penny shaped tiles are lovely too and a good grip on the floor is also necessary. A towel hook close to the shower is good thinking too. I keep a basket by mine with more clean towels and flannels in.

I like the no-door/partition options because it means less glass to keep clean; aging in place is just a bonus. Defiitely going to keep some of these for inspo in planning my bathroom remodel.

It's wonderful to see the beautiful and creative ways people are aging in place. I'd love to see more grab bars in these designs. They are smart at any age and there are some beautiful options now that don't have that institutional esthetic. Also, linear drains are a really bad idea, they collect hair and are difficult to clean out.

This is a thoughtful article that slows one's rhythm like a cleansing sigh.
For me, the aroma of fresh brewing coffee in the morning and the soft flickering light of a vanilla candle bringing the day to a close.
I have a path and five steps up the front door. The path is lined with lavender, rosemary, apple mint, sage and chives which may seem very boring to some, but these are my staples in cooking. Sometimes I pick something on the way up to use for supper and some lavender heads for a vase. At the top is a pot of tumbling nasturtiums (I'll wait for the seeds or a few flowers to garnish a salad) and some parsley. Again....I am usually thinking about supper as I approach my front door. That short walk is never wasted as it is time for thinking about supper. They smell gorgeous too.
