Reentry from the wedding/vacay/ hiking with Miss Peanut has been rough. They are my monkeys and this is my circus! Since today was finally a day I did not have to do anything for anyone else, I sat on my sofa and enjoyed the view,
fabulously !sunny and autumnal. Finally, I got up and started clearing up my planters. This year, I have vowed to clean everything up and store things appropriately. Finally, my moment of Zen…my cousin It Japanese Maple is doing its thing!
To date he has gotten wiring done for the ceiling fan/lights. He had to put in a dual switch right there as you enter the room (far left) and put in temp light fixtures (cheep ones) so we have light to work in. There will be ceiling fans (already ordered and here) where the two bulbs are, and an LED strip light in a cedar box covering the old header for the greenhouse structure... that saves us having to remove that thing and is already there, so we'll use it for that. He had to do a bunch of wiring reconfiguring in that closet... it used to run a ton of grow lights and fans for plants I guess, but it was all wonky and he's got it all redone in there now.
Over the past few days:
The door came in; it's propped on the brick wall in a box there. The door will need paint, but yay, it's here! All the windows are supposed to come in on Friday... I dunno if that means we'll be getting them HERE this weekend, but that happened faster than we thought. Our contractor friend may be bringing them out here? The MiniSplit/HVAC guy we found came out and gave us a game plan for putting heat/AC in the room (and we are adding one to the main bedroom upstairs bc I would LOVE having a boost of cold in that room only in the summer)... so that is planned out pretty reasonably now. Our bedroom is the hottest room in the house in summer bc it's on the end of the line from the blower in the basement. LOL
The big purchase today was cedar paneling for the ceiling and the little bits of wall that we'll have, and trim pieces for the windows/door. All aromatic cedar and it smells amazing. He also got the insulation for between the rafters so the ceiling can commence.
