I believe Alice worked at Lowes in the blinds dept so she may have suggestions. Agree…just shade at night.

When and if you’re shopping for a cellular shade, different vendors have different thicknesses of head rails. Most hardware remains the same throughout, but they should all carry the 3/8 inch thickness. So go with the one with the least protruding head rail and also try to remember to inquire about the holddown brackets. In most cases, it’s just a tiny clear pin type.

My front entry

The material was delivered today for my porch roof project to commence tomorrow morning. He’ll also be replacing the rotted underpinning around the porch, which is not a lot but needs to be done. I know for a fact that when he shows up Missy and her two kittens will run under the house so before we close that up, we’re going to have to do something. I may in fact close it up while they’re out before he gets here with something if I can find it around here. There’s other places they can go as they will be frightened for sure. I hate doing that to them, but the work is going to have to be done back here. I’m certain they will love the new set up when it’s done because I’m moving the big cat house over beside the porch and they’ll have their feeding station and their winter digs all in one place. And good for me to be pretty close to the back door under the new roof. There is the sheet metal and the extra gutter length that will be delivered tomorrow because it didn’t come in the package today. When I text the contractor to see what time he would be over in the morning he said oh we’re starting next week. Well he’s such a funny guy 😂 and by the way, even though this is only a two day project, I only deposited half of his labor expenses and will wait until he’s finished and I’m happy with the results, then he can have the other half. Funny, I asked him if he wanted coffee in the morning and he asked me if I had creamer? No, I only have milk 😃 so that goes to show the most unexpected level of favorites can come from any direction lol.

Thank you Alice for your input. We did measure in three places (width and height) as they list on their page and I saw from others. So far, all measurements are the same so I guess our windows are even and not wonky:) The depth at the top is 2" 1/4 so not very deep, but enough. The upstairs windows are not very long so hopefully that will have the case at the top not too large..they are 53" tall. For the ones downstairs I will probably have to to outside mount since those are taller (73" the glass length). I took a photo if the corner,,hopefully it shows ok..if not I can take others

Oh, he’s been here all day. He was teasing me 😃 I’ll catch up and hopefully get some pictures soon. I’ll be on later this evening when things settle down. Of course, every kitty has scattered!

This is from Oriental Rugs of Houston.

@liasch - The colors are much more muted than the photos. I don’t know why they photograph that way but the bedroom one is closer to pale blue and the dining room is a softer turquoise. It took a while to find what I wanted.
Rug shopping is more marathon than sprint….

Your rugs are so pretty RedRyder!😍

She’s so fully comfortable. I’m so happy about that. I was worried there for a while. No surprise there. That’s my natural state 😵💫😜Ollie is slowly coming around. He’s a little timid. They are both so sweet! I’m so happy they found you, you found them ❤️
My yard men are here today. I really don't need a mowing but they are doing things like cutting down vines and trimming back bushes that have grown out into the yard. One young guy has been up on my roof blowing it off (modified A-frame so it's not steep and it's metal so it can take him walking on it). It's been a good while since that was done and he was up there for an hour. Hurricane winds will probably blow tons of leaves onto the roof again but they will be loose leaves so it should be OK. I think they must have had some cancellations so they came today but I wish they could have waited a week and come to do all these 'odd ball' gardening chores after the storm rolls through.
Re: the hurricane. We don't know what to expect. I'd love to NOT lose power but who knows. We're supposed to be on the East side of it which the TV weatherman said gets the stronger winds so all we can do is wait and see what comes. We've been so lucky all summer. Gls and I will both accept all good thoughts...
Yes, it's a joy to look at them.
