Okay my next question is:

Soft opening/closing or regular heavy duty ball bearing?

The soft opening is almost double the price... Worth it or no? My other drawers are soft opening but I see mixed reviews on choosing that with a trash can.

As someone with an in-the-open trash can for the last 15 years, across 3 kitchens, and not much patience, I'm shocked at how much I like working in my mom's new kitchen which I designed with a pullout trash can. It has non soft close (I'd vote for that) and a rubber foot pull called The Handless Handle (amazon) for when hands are icky. I had previously stayed in a vacation rental where I hated the in-cabinet trash, and wrongly assumed I always would. The difference for me is all about practical placement - can I keep it half-open when I am making dinner without it getting in the way of my frenzy, but still have it convenient to where the trash is being produced? Something for you to think about!

Individual elements are lovely, but as a whole, it honestly should have had quite a bit of editing. An arch, a beam, a niche, high contrast hardware, a commercial faucet, a statement hood, an accent stone and shelf at the range, two colors for cabinetry plus the hood color, and glass front display cabinetry.

If you like it and it functions for your family, then that's what matters most. Maybe your friends aren't into bling and are more the "take off one piece of jewelry" people so don't expect validation from them.

You love the look and the work-flow of your kitchen - that's all I need to know to tell me you did the right thing and should be very happy.

When it comes time to market it to others, I would add a light in the pantry alcove - show off that lovely arch - and repaint the upper cabinets so they're not so dark and heavy. Not now, because you love it now, and don't let anyone take that away from you. Do it then.

This looks like a very well functioning kitchen with top end choices. So brava for that! For me, though, it's the black cabinets that break up the visual flow of the uppers. There are big blocks of finish contrasts going on in a kitchen with no window: black cabinets; wood cabinets; massive cream range hood, i.e. three visual fields in a small amount of space. All the same, leave it. You like it.

Two possible tweaks if you must:

Counter stools matching wood instead of black stools as below. And clear glass pendants.

That said, you're done. Enjoy your new kitchen.

I bought mine because it fades to the most lovely pink and soft copper combination. It stays that two toned color the longest. I bought another Crazy Love after seeing it bloom. The blooms are large. Mine only started getting some height after it's 3rd year, but it's a Kordes, so I'm just happy it's alive.

Sara Ann, my Rosie the Riveter looks more like your Crazy Love!
