The New Brighton playground and splash park has been a huge success since it opened in December 2017. The design incorporates a whale pool with water features and underwater lighting, a splash play area with water cannons, water fountains and play features. The playground also incorporates a large waka play feature with a number of other structures. The design is well integrated into the public domain, providing amenity features including coastal planting, hardscape patterns, seating and evening lighting displays. We worked within a design team which included consultants from Select Contracts and AWA.
