The house, located on the north shore of Lake Wenatchee, conforms to the natural topography of the site. The entry is protected from deep winter snowfall by a large, sheltering roof.

Rooms are carefully located and oriented to the sun and views. A hand-laid stone fireplace and terrace join the house and site.

A very personal collection of paintings and sculpture is displayed in a tall, central gallery. Rearranged periodically by the owners, the artwork is integrated with the everyday activities of living, cooking and dining.

The living room fireplace is faced with granite, salvaged from a Chinese village flooded by the Three Gorges Dam. Clear fir and steel ‘woven’ together form a light, open stair railing.
