Whoa. I need to go on a world-wide open house tour!
At the 2:02 mark, the Czech bedroom, does anyone know what the light fixtures/lamps are? They look something like milk glass...
I cannot possibly pick a favorite!
How inspiring!
really inspring
Oh Wow! I am speechless...
WOW. The art-of-the-house all over the world. I could not look away. Thanks
#7 picture-Spain. The swimming pool is the best!
I feel like I just took a vacation. Fabulous!
Loved the inspirational image gallery, but I was disappointed in the "USA" section - only exterior shots, and not representative. There are way more exciting and diverse interiors and homes of architectural interest to be found.
I'd love to stay at all of them but not necessarily would I call them all home.
What is a primary need of shelter shown here takes on endless options. Great job Houzz.
A quote by Saul Bass comes to mind, "Design is thinking made visual." And what beautiful "thoughts" are seen in these alluring homes!
WHERE are the 'Traditional' homes?! ALL these are 'Contemporary.'
Great video, although in my humble opinion, the U.S. could have been represented better. There were only 10 samples from the United States, 9 full exterior and 1 interior shot, in comparison to the 18 from Canada, for example, that varied from 10 exterior to 8 interior perspectives. But overall a very inspiring take.
Just had a minute this morning to drink my cup of jo (fresh ground, organic, free-trade espresso beans with cardamon and cinnamon --- brilliant, eh? and delish), when I opened my mail and saw this. Thought I'd take just a moment to look at the architecture but could not stop until the end of the 9 min. slide show. Mumbling "WOW" again and again, I had to refill me cup as I started the show again.
You expect stark creativity from Japan and Sweden, right? But EVERY country presented had it's own unique signature of unique vision that would make Frank Lloyd Wright proud.
I want to say "I am speechless" but obviously I'm not. Impressive indeed.
Thanks for including our SD House! (8:11) - http://www.houzz.com/projects/80644/sd-house
So many great projects everywhere!

Thanks for these videos with music! Just love them. What a treat. And thanks for including interiors also in these architectural wonders!
For me, the homes in the west coast of Canada and the homes in Japan speak most loudly.
What a treat!
Marvellous spaces! Looking forward to more. Thanks for this treat.
Eye Candy that delighted me in a variety of flavors and styles. Loved Australia, Spain, UK, New Zealand, United States, and France.
Wonderful. Good work Houzz!!
Where can I get the chaise lounge chairs shown by the French infinity edge pool photo?
Interesting collection of "gorgeous". To each their own.
luv houzz
WOW! Love the different styles of decor Russia was very surprising =)
Beautiful!
White bed-wardrobe bedroom in Hong Kong with no space is absolutely no comment (ugly and uncomfortable). Not impressed with Asian section at all.
Italian section with attention to details and color matching and some Paris ones are very beautiful.
Russian section is very interesting but not all.
Swedish was very predictable. (Maybe I just don't like IKEA))
German with golden chairs, a lot of stuff and carpet-world map underneath the feet...Ha?
Liked Spanish trunk-stairs (and floor idea)- very cool, very expensive as well.
Thanks for photos, sorry for criticism))
So many amazing spaces. Loved the New Zealand ones for sure!
The assault began on two fronts the V I S U A L and the S O U N D T R A C K phat bass invades just funky enough to take you there to eagerly anticipate the notes taken by the minds eye. Eclectic Architecture and simple, timeless design took me to next century com-positional architecture, see what can be possible. Composts and Alloys of styles interact merge, separate less is more and i cant get enough........ yea i liked the vidshow whats next on the menu
I do have a favorite and incidentlyit is not my city, Monterrey Mexico being show as well. In these wonderful photos my favorite is ITALY! there incredible way of combining and showing traditional, antiques, with the clean lines of the contemporary is awsome!!!! The flair of Italian design is truly inspiring. Thanx for a great show houzz
Breath-taking beautiful, amazing, exquisite glimpse into our thought-provoking design,A real blast.Thank you.Loved all of them, the Japanese clean style and the French chic and all the outdoors...so definitely romantic. A huge range of romantic getaways, I would say.
I must live in a whole different world. I would never be comfortable in these homes. Did not watch it all not my cup of tea. Give me a farm house.
I guess some folks in Spain are not feeling economic pain as much as others. These are some beautiful homes!
I found the ones that reeked of money, or even just stank, far less interesting than those that did not.
While many photos are beautiful and inspiring I find the presentation style frustrating. Would prefer a slide show that I could use my own pace: to stop and study favorites AND to be able to bookmark individual shots. Also 9 minutes of repeating music was not entertaining.
This is very inspiring and innovative.
Nice pictures, but where is Finnish design??? Though we are a small country, we have awesome architecture, buildings
and design. Next time, please share some awesome pictures from our country!
These are the ones which caught my eye- The Australian property with the blue circular piece of art against the concrete wall is amazing! The little UK house next to river is gorgeous & so is the one with the concave ceiling (lovely light blue/white/light wood colours!). The German pool looks really natural & serene. The French bungalow combining the old stone wall with the new modern wood and the beautiful kitchen/diner with the pole through the dining table is just beautiful! All of the Canadian houses were fantastic, i especially liked the canadian bathroom with the serene green artwork over the bath. Bookcase stairwell in Mexico was genius. Hard to choose a favourite! Maybe i would favour the German pool because i like natural looking pools more than the current trend towards hard edged concrete pools. Nice collection Houzz & thank you :)
Thank you for this spectacular tour! I have drawn inspiration from many of the houses and simply loved seeing the grand architecture of some and absolute plainness of others. Thank you :D
Woollhara Terrace was especially impressive! Unique decoration!
Nice collection of impressive homes!
Nice overall but I was underwhelmed. So many great types of architecture from around the world, like India, were not displayed. Clear focus on modern/cotemporary homes. Would have liked to have seen more variety in style.
Loved Australia, Spain and Russia. Sorry for any countries left out! I am from Australia, but agree, surprised not more representation from the USA. Have attached my fav house. Won Best Architectural House in the World 2013, it is in Paddington Brisbane, hope you like it!
Thoroughly enjoyed these great pics! Inspired me to present my own spaces in a similar way....
Thank you for including some historic house, cozy homes, and homes that were not "modern". Too many glass homes with wonderful views but difficult to relax in.
Thanks Houzz for the fabulous start to my Sunday morning! Definitely proud of our Aussie homes that made it into this cool showcase!
Of course there are so many amazing homes around the world that thanks to Houzz contributors are continually updated to offer fresh ideas that awe & inspire us & feed the addiction to seeing these beautiful spaces ;)
Love the music playing!!!! Who is the artist?
Beautiful homes!
Unique and stunning. Gorgeous, well, no.
Nice, but any staircase, no matter how beautiful, without a hand rail is simply not safe!
Absolutely stunning selection. Exciting houses. I wish people would refrain from the need to display their ignorance with inappropriate negative personal comments. Bravo Houzz. Some great architects to choose from,
Lovely houses from many nations but I was disappointed not to see any from South Africa - or indeed anywhere in Africa. We visit Cape Town regularly and find their design aesthetic absolutely stunning, from cutting edge contemporary to stately old Cape Dutch farms to colourful vintage Malay cottages. Maybe Houzz could do a design feature on African homes sometime?
I am sure everyone agrees that there are many things we would like to have seen. But, it was a a wonderful 9 minutes, if i still worked i would have saved it for my break. Like " take a trip and never leave the farm". One can only hope that all the other areas, that might be neglected will get the attention at another time. beautiful job Houzz! PS-this one even let me see it straight through.
Love love the slide show, inspiring...
super video nice work I hope that it will be sustained more more home styles from the world

Ha! How fun! That's my little Bed and breakfast with the two beds with colorful quilts and book shelf overhead. That's the Cubby-bedroom. It is a whole house rental of the original homestead n my goose farm in Mid Missouri. For the video and info look here: www.gosherdcottage.com
*feels surreal to be in this collection. Im just a little goose farm in the country. Thanks Houzz teams! You totally made my day!
so inspiring, i'd like a new one, a home with swimming pool, and it faces the beautiful view of a beach, i think it is so special, it seems i can enjoy all the day without thinking about business. unfortunately, i live in a village, no beach view, but only a mountain view,
Just awesome! So many beautiful homes with great design ideas.
Stunning architecture & interior design! & goes without saying superb photography. I'd be proud to have shot any of those. Revelation the modern Russian homes. Not all wooden dacha's or oligarch bling!
By the way if anyone's interested the soundtrack is K' Walkin' - Tatma. Album, Twilight Smooth Jazz.
Just so cool as are the houses, sorry Houzz.
Color contrasts look great with the reflection from the pool and the out door lighting
Well I had a very enjoyable 9 minutes but not sure my partner was quite so entertained, obviously NOT a fan of K' Walkin' - Tatma as he asked plaintively 'is this going to end soon?' after about 5 minutes :D Big surprise for me were the Russian houses too, some of them looked fabulous.
I think another thing that stands out with all the properties (apart from the stunning photography) is that all of them are in fabulous locations, which obviously deserves great architecture. So that begs the question:- does the property enhance the location or does the location enhance the property?
If you're having a bespoke house built, then your architect should take into consideration it's place in the landscape, along with the clients brief, no matter if it's city, suburban or rural. That does not rule out cutting edge or traditional architecture from contrasting or competing with it's surroundings as longs it's great architecture! After all it's subjective, on what compliments or or contrasts with the location.
I'd like to see more of these type of slide shows on Houzz. How about you? Only scratched the surface with great homes around the world.
I have always wanted to see what different tastes are from different sides of the globe, and now I have it at my fingertips! ;)
i like the one that was mexico ,japan ,germany
Great slideshow!
