Set in a typical Woollahra row of terraced houses, a 1950s two-storey ugly duckling of a house nestled between its Victorian neighbours. Almost three quarters of this original structure was demolished and replaced this tall and lean, three storey home for a film director and his young family
An oversized, 3.5m tall window framed with a Juliet balcony at its base and a steel hood are the protagonists of the street front performance, the provide a visual conversation with the passers-by. The upper level of the master bedroom has a recessed panoramic window to contemplate the ample views of Sydney Harbour and Bellevue Hill across the valley.

Balcony Design Ideas

Our client moved into a modern apartment in South East London with a desire to warm it up and bring the outside in. We set about transforming the space into a lush, rustic, rural sanctuary with an industrial twist.
We stripped the ceilings and wall back to their natural substrate, which revealed textured concrete and beautiful steel beams. We replaced the carpet with richly toned reclaimed pine and introduced a range of bespoke storage to maximise the use of the space. Finally, the apartment was filled with plants, including planters and living walls, to complete the "outside inside" feel.
