Danwood Whole House Remodel
Cool Contemporary Energy Saver
Bringing new life to older home, with modern sensibilities and energy efficient design. Interior Remodel in 78759 Great Hills neighborhood, Austin, TX. In this home, the HVAC was moved to a conditioned space in the attic, for smart energy savings and to make room in the house for a better floor plan. All walls were filled with spray foam insulation to create the highest energy efficiency, and 100% LED lighting installed throughout the house to lessen heat and save on energy costs. Old single panes were replaced with Low E Argon windows on whole house and additional windows were added to bring in more natural light. The large roof overhangs protect from sun exposure, while 2 interior glass pane doors for bathroom and an interior hallway window were added to enhance natural light more prominently. The exterior limestone was re-used wherever possible to reframe new windows and keep material use low. All old doors, windows, cabinets, and hardware were donated to Habitat for Humanity for re-use. The transformation in look, feel, function, and flow, along with energy savings of over 50%, brought this older home a stunning refresh, with the long-lasting benefits of being up to par with todays' energy innovations.
