The functional aspect involved transforming the humdrum 1400 sq’ living area on the first floor into an open, expansive, free flowing grand scheme that included an enlarged kitchen, upscaled entry, elegant dining, and a cozy family room for entertaining.
The beauty aspect emerged through custom artistry in cabinetry, details in the woodwork and elegant finishes along with the unifying feature of dry-stacked stone throughout all the rooms. Visually, the custom arches, ceiling details, exquisite hand scraped wood floors along with the soapstone countertops and stone work backsplash in the kitchen strengthened the classic lines of the original house. In addition, the traditional color choices for the walls and woodwork helped to enhance the overall flow from room to room.
