First time moving out - Tips?
Comments (4)Make sure you save up enough money for your bond and two weeks rent in advance - most agents usually require this and it's a big hole in your pocket to begin with! I slowly started buying things in the lead up that I knew I would need (plates, utensils, linen, appliances on sale, etc). Try to do most of your shopping around sale times. I stocked up at the boxing day sales and got a lot of stuff for really cheap! Other things I'd urge you to consider are: bedroom window light (ours face an internal common area with night time safety lights right next to them and let in a lot of light), number of bathrooms/schedules of house members, sufficient storage space and (assuming you'll be sharing with others) a clear idea of household duties/who will do what. Remember: it's your first time out of home, it's probably not going to be a dream-come-true kind of house but it's a great experience, so try not to stress too much!...See MoreTips to make my home pet friendly
Comments (3)I teach my dogs that the kitchen is out of bounds. That way they don't get under your feet and you can move around confidently knowing you won't stand on them. Also, be consistent with the rules of the house and ensure you walk Pancake every day! It's a good balancer and they need to 'sniff' to see what is going on in the dog world. I also feed them after a walk, then they know when dinner time is, even if it is an hour earlier, it doesn't matter. It is also a good idea to insist they sit before getting into their food, they too can have manners. Just don't leave them sitting too long when training them. If they start to move, before they look at you to give the ok command, try and say ok as quickly as they are moving into to eat. Practice makes perfect. Enjoy Pancake, she looks adorable....See MoreNeed help for my villa, kitchen, dining and bathroom.
Comments (5)thank you for your comment. we are looking at using the interior wall, opposite the sink, for ceiling height cupboards utilising the wall cavities so as not to crowd the thoroughfare. I will keep a look out for replacement wooden windows. i would like to move them to the left so as to create more space in the corner area for hopefully a fridge? what to do with the fridge?...See Morei need help with my shed/workshop design
Comments (4)You could install racking for both sides of the room, toys & clothes that aren't being used can go into large plastic containers with lids. The two bikes could be hung from the wall or ceiling. And yes, anything that doesn't need to be there, move it on. There are so many hooks and storage options available that it would be very easy to sort this out and by getting a lot of it off the floor....See MoreUser
