We are about to paint the walls an off white - double merino, and thought we might paint the doors and pelmets the same and now after reading your comments I think we will leave the timber beams and paint the ceiling between them the same as the walls, and will consider the bar supports too. What do people think about painting ceilings, doors and walls the same colour?

Hi, Courtney, thanks for that, I haven't painted yet, we have nearly finished putting in a bathroom. This coming summer we are painting, so at present my choice of colours are a dark grey roof, a warm green (not blue undertone) for main house, a buttermilk trim and a rusty red door? What do you think.

What emotion do you want to feel in the room? Calm? Energized? Happy? What colors do you associate with the emotion you want to have in the room? Choose a bed covering first. It is much easier to match paint to a bed covering than it is to try to find a bedcover to match paint.
