Your best bet would be a tightly wound frieze or a berber. They both work great for footprint marks and vacuum marks. They also offer a lot of variety in style and color.
Berber is considered a main choice for this situation since it virtually shows no marks, but be careful with berber if you have pets.
Also, explore nylon or polyester type fibers. Those will add extra help with markings and stain resistance. Hope this helps!
