I don't know how hot it gets in Auckland in summer (I've only ever been to NZ in winter!) but if it gets hot, then go for a pale colour. Dark roofs should be kept for cold places!

We have a 1980 home which - in its day - was covered in a plethora of wallpaper . The last owners decided to paint over the wallpaper with a very inexpensive paint (also not the best quality). How can I upgrade the wall - sanding, cleaning, etc … to have the best result? And what type or brand of paint would you suggest? Also, they loved a variety of “whites” resulting in an inconsistent palette! Any favourite white suggestions are appreciated!!
